I didnt even look for them LOL I just ripped the bugger off because I was putting on a limb saver anyways didn't really need to save it it's actually in the garbage lol. I guess its just like my girlfriends grizzly ... Little plugs??? In an Unrelated post when I get home I will measure it broken down for that other guy asking what the overall length is broken down Just out walking my dog will be back in 10 minutes to do so

Right on, I just looked at my older backpacker and I guess I was thinking of another pad that had the plugs......this one just has tiny holes for the screwdriver. Which Model of Limbsaver pad did you end up using? How's the fit?

This is where I'm slowly headed with my backpacker!
De tuned the sharp metal on the muzzle, action release tab and hammer.( still need to de tune the outside edge of the chamber)
Removed some wood to make the pistol grip a little deeper
Shimmed under the handgaurd with a piece of rubber to keep the latch from pre-releasing.
I've got some XS sights that I would like to try on it as well.

How did you put a rail on it? Any links?

It look good, but i am amaze how much trouble you go into for a sub 150.00 paddle, wish i had the patience to do that... Congrat. JP.

I haven't put it on yet...I just mocked it up for the photo. I just picked up the XS rail off the EE a few weeks ago and the XS front sight I got from brownells. I'd like to try out some sub caliber adapters with the backpacker and it would be nice to regulate the aim a bit.

The metal and wood modifications were pretty easy and the sights are worth 2/3's of the purchase price but that's the way it goes with cheap guns.
I really did not like the feel of the pistol grip as delivered....it did feel like a cheap paddle!

those sights would be much better than the stock bead for use with the adapter

It was much easier hitting things when I used them in the grizzly pump with ghost ring sights

I got mine from short lane arms I believe, only use lead ammo as jacketed would wear out the weak rifling

I wanna get one of the 12" versions... I have a 23/4 one already in 9mm and .22 and your right dont use copper jacketted ... My 9 mm one does 10 feet high at 30yards... Not so safe

They've dropped the .223, and 7.62 from the x caliber idea.... Some of their ideas are good but it seems to be a work in progress....

I hadn't heard that about plated ammo.
Are you using aluminium inserts or the steel ones from short lane?
Have you tried marking and then rotating the adapter to see if you could bring it closer to POA?

Yes i have marked them in an effort to find POA. I've had my adapters for about 4 years so just alot if shooting in that time... I believe they are aluminum ones they are both rifled also. When i purchesed them there wasnt much out there. My next ones would be the longer version and steel. I saw one company making 45-70 ... Alittle redic... Do you know why they dropped the .223 and 7.62x39? Pressures?
