CSA VZ-58 Non-Restricted 7.62x39 with M4 stock

It's true. The NR Chromed lined are in Canada (not shipped to dealers yet because of a stock out-of-stock issue). There's about 100 rifles made for this year. I'm not sure if all 100 are in the country (I think they are). Sparrow: when did you get yours?

Breaking news. There are now two stores who will have stock of the NR chrome lined CSA VZ 58 in a few days time:

Kelly Sporting Goods: 6 rifles
P&D Enterprise: 6 rifles

As far as I know North Sylva are the sole distributor of CSA. And no you cannot order directly from North Sylva, you have to order from a retailer.

I'm curious where Sparrow got his from too, because I have been in the know about these rifles back in Feb and have been following their progress since. As far as I know the NR Chrome Lined have only been shipped out to retailers on Monday to the two dealers I mentioned earlier (plus 1 sent to Phoenix gun range, presumably for a customer order).

Damn. I bought a handgun this week. I'll be tempted though. I have a deposit down on a CZ, I might wait for that instead of getting a CSA though. Depends how long the RCMP plans to hold that shipment.

P&D has it on their website already:
CSA VZ-58 Sporter, Blued/Synthetic, Standard Stock, Chrome Lined Barrel, 18.6" 7.62x39 1,025.00 NEW

Depending on the CSR this will wait. And sorry to beat a dead horse, but is this also one of the models under reclassification???

No! CSA VZ's are propose built semi's

Mine just arrived from Kelly's Sporting goods, all black non-chrome bore. A really nice rifle and my first VZ/CZ type rifle.

I talk to North Sylva on almost a daily basis and I have heard of no shipment of chromed NR CSA's.
Im gonna ask them right now and report back.

Clearly you haven't been asking the right questions! :D

I ordered mine back in April, that's why I've been asking specifically about this. I just never told anyone about it because I want to make sure I have mine first. My rifle has been picked already that's why I can share the love now.

Chrome bore isn't as accurate and if you're shooting corrosive ammo you still have to clean the rest of the rifle anyways so I didn't really see the point.

I've only ever cleaned my old SKS with breakclean and G96 or tranny fluid. I never had an issue with a rusty gun so I'm assuming the VZ will be the same.

From a practical stand-point, you're right, but what has this hobby got to do with practical? For me it's having the best components for my favorite rifle. Sure SOME accuracy is sacrificed, but the bore is now "indestructible" and I don't have to ever think about corrosion issues in the area that will most affect accuracy. What really convinced me was researching the best oil for rust prevention and seeing just how quickly carbon steel rusts with even the most popular CLPs. I figure that protecting as much of the non-visible parts as much as possible (ie. the bore) is therefore vital. If the rifle is to you some beater like an SKS, then yeah - I see no point.
