Hi all. I had a berry's bullet puller and it broke. Is there an alternative? Since I only pulled aroudnd 150 bullets, I don't think I want to buy another one.

THanks

I used an RCBS kinetic puller for many years before it broke but then again I don't pull many during a year. For volume pulling you may wish to invest in a collet type puller from RCBS or other manufacturer as these are faster and don't damage bullet tips as much as a kinetic puller.

Call them re warranty replacement. You never know. I have an RCBS impact puller & it has worked well for years. Plus RCBS has a lifetime warranty.

Use collet puller whenever possible, powder stays inside casing.

Use kinetic only to pull deeply seated bullets out far enough for collet to grab.

"...kinetic puller for many years..." It's not from RCBS nor has it ever broken. Don't ask me what brand it is either.
What did you do that you need to keep pulling bullets?

I have an RCBS kinetic puller that is at least 25 years old, the long life may be attributed to using the technique I read about many years ago of keeping the puller handle parallel to the striking surface while in use.

Kinetic pullers break from time to time. I keep a spare for the occasion. I couldn't be bothered with warranty for a $30 item.

I put two EAR foam ear plugs into my RCBS kinetic bullet puller, protects the lead tips on Nosler Partitions very well. Just the correct diameter.
I tried the collet type, did not like them.

I threw away the silly split collar setup and use the shell holder from the press for the calibre I pulling the bullet from. The hole in the cap of the kinetic puller is just the right size

I find those kinetic bullet pullers to be way too slow. I sacrifice the bullet by grabbing it with a pair of pliers at the top of the press stroke and then lowering the handle to remove the bullet. Red neck collet, but it works with every bullet size. Messes up the bullet, leaves the powder and case. To heck with it, the bullet's only worth $0.50, so why hunch over and hit the ground with something that'll break if you hit too hard and be useless if you hit too soft. Ain't no-one got time for that.

I was so frustrated with comercial kinetic bullets pullers that I made for myself two of them, one for small and other one for large cartridges.
I used tough oversized screwdrivers handles ( Lexan?) bought in flea market for 25c or so per handle, threaded, machied them accordingly to hold Lee Auto Prime shell holders.
Extra collar and handle from spare kevlar fishing rod was glued with Devcon tytanium epoxy.
So far after 15 or so years I have no problem what so ever.
