Arisaka torture test

I think i understand why they shot it with the 30-06.

Older folks in USA still hold a lot of resentment over Pearl Harbor, Iwo Jima and such....hence why he kept calling it a Jap 99. Jap is a derogatory term. Also why they shot it with a Garand...

I dont agree with it, but to each their own.

make fun of eric all you want he is a good friend and will do anything for you some times I say he's getting out of hand myself considering where and how he started and the type of vids he used to make he's gone a bit FPSrussia

There were no surprises the way they treated that gun. As for plugging the barrel with mud, Ive fallen a few times myself and the first thing I do is check to see that the barrel is clear.

1) Yes, he has gone a bit "fpsrussia".
2) He should have minded Robert Downey Junior - "You never go full retard!"
3) I appreciate that he's your friend. I have a friend who does really dumb things all the time - usually involving whiskey, but that's another story. O nthe 'net, I sometimes pretend he's a stranger - lol.
4) In all seriousness, nobody is trying to slag your buddy by saying he's not a good, reliable friend. I'm sure he's the man to call if you need to be bailed out of the drunk tank without your wife finding out, but the consensus here appears to be that he has a poor sense of economics (destroying a rifle that is experiencing value growth in the wake of "sands of Iwo Jima" and "The Pacific") and he's doing ignorant things that don't prove anything to anyone about the Type 99, nor any other rifle (i.e shooting it with 6" of bore obstruction and then swiss-cheesing the gun with a good 'ol "murices M1). Yup - VERY hard to predict that bulged barrel or that the wooden stock can't stop M2 ball...

Just sayin'...

The American Rifleman Magazine ran an article years ago, where some one had rechambered a 6.5 Arisaka to .30-06 and fired it. The rifle survived.
The article showed a picture of a .30 calibre bullet squeezed down to 6.5mm

We all knew the Arisaka was a tough as nuts rife before the "torture" test. There is a fixed number of these rifles out there and its sad to see another one gone for good. I'm sure these guys are great and all but I can not condone wanton destruction of a historic rifle for the purpose proving something we already know

its about as stupid as those dude that chop a japanese katana into a gun barrel or a helmet ... a goddam useless peace of info...

matter of fact ...some other dude did the test prior to these guys... what the point of repeating it

sure would have been nice to own one of those arisaka's

i give it ... a double trudeau salute ..... !

"...there is some 'propoganda'..." Some what?
No picture. No video. Mind you, you have to work at destroying an Arisaka. Moreso than with an M1 Rifle. It has been proven as one of the strongest bolt actions of W. W. II.

PO Ackley couldn't wreck one so why try and ruin another? It's like driving your truck into a concrete pillar to see if the airbags work.
