Creedmoor has Landed

It's really had me until I saw the 20oz scope on a ultra light build. I suspect it has something to do with sponsors (no jab intended).

18 ounce but no, I'll take the weight for the long range capabilities. I had lots of other lighter scope options had I wanted. Rifle is right at 7 pounds with scope...exactly where I wanted it. It's a long ways from an ultra-light build and was never intended to be. Honestly I don't like rifles any lighter....that weight just feels right for me and I have the ability to shoot at extended ranges...I understand that your mileage may vary but this is exactly what I wanted.

It's your bang stick! I'm just saying I don't like that tie with that suit is all. Doesn't make it a bad suit.
What is the contour used?

LOL...and I was just explaining why the tie was the perfect choice for me...and not something I had to wear but chose to wear. I think it matched the suit perfectly. I appreciate you'd do things differently and I'm comfortable with that :)

Sheephunter, are you going to use factory Horn brass or are you going to make up your own from something else in a different brand? Looks to be virtually identical in all the critical dimensions to 250 Sav which you can buy in nearly any brand out there. Just curious.

I've got a couple cases of Hornady factory ammo that I'm going to break the rifle in with and do some shooting with and then I'll use that brass for reloading. If the factory stuff shoots satisfactorily, I'll likely use it for the August hunt as well. Time is kind of precious right now. Working up a load might be a winter project if the factory stuff works well.

nice rig. I was going to get a 6.5cm but when Lapua introduced 260 brass in 2012 it was a no brainer for me. Ballistic wise they're peas in a pod along with the 6.5x47 & 6.5x55, and not far off the 6.5-284

From my testing, I would say the .260 and CM are close enough to be effectively the same performance level and both better my Swede... I have never shot the 47, and only played with the 6.5/.284 at the range... Not enough for a good or fair comparison... If I could only pick one, it would be the CM for sure... But I would hate to have to give up my .260 because I have the whole .308 family.

I definitely didn't go the Creedmoor route for some huge ballistic advantage...I just thought it was new and it was cool and I wanted a short action 6.5 for the mountains. It seemed a good fit for me.

I see this bald guy on the news wearing a bowtie. I think he looks like a dink but it doesn't make him any less intelligent. Wouldn't be my choice but what the hell?

Let me know if you have shallow primer pockets on the factory loaded bass when you put your primers in. I had 2 loaded boxs that we all shallow but the 3 boxes of brass I got were perfect...

"I think like all the new calibres that hit the market each year, they'll do the job but certainly nothing revolutionary and you are stuck to buying factory ammo which could be very difficult to track down. Same thing happened when the .30TC hit the market. I had the gun for 6 months before I could get ammo. My guess is that they'll have a short life span."

How is the CM different ?
