Hey guys, just received what was supposed to be brand new Taurus stainless 1911 from a retailer on here. Do you think this is acceptable? Its got a pretty big scratch on it, and it only came with one mag even though the foam in the box has a spot for 2 (ive owned this gun before and it came with 2)

Its actually worse than the pic shows. Would you be ok with paying $800+ for this?

call asap, and let them explain themselves. Always comes with two mags! And the scratch?...not acceptable if your buying from dealer,,and listed as new!.....It should not be in that shape, if packed in a foam case. Don't ask if it can be sent back for a replacement, tell them you will be sending it back for a replacement!

Few people are as picky as moi .... But This is ridiculous!

I could go on (and want to!), but this situation is best resolved over the phone.

Call up the shop (who are likely unaware of this unacceptable product) - then go in and see them. Make a point of calling them first - so the person who needs to deal with this (i.e. the owner) is there.

1. Whatever protective coating was on the slide at that location has now been compromised (and really - what kind of abuse would it take to actually make a scratch like this?!)
2. Re: the missing mag - with the shortage, and subsequent high prices of mags these days - ask them who is trying to make a buck off of your purchase?!!

No one should be expected to pay top dollar for a questionable product.

My two cents ...

I'd be more pissed about the mag, I hate it when my stuff is mauled over to grab an extra mag and make another bit of cash off of the deal. So petty. Obviously you don't expect a scratch on a new product either but alot of my guns end up with some dings, it just happens with use.

working on that right now. Waiting for email from "warranty department"

You should be getting a new gun, not sending them the scratched one for a refurb. You should be able to enjoy it being brand new at least until you put the first marks on it yourself.

I got a pre-paid shipping label to send it back. Retailer was good about it, he can't get another one from the supplier, so I will get a refund when they receive the gun. That's every retailer should do business. This one is a credit to CGN. Thanks for your opinions guys. Now I need to find a 1911 to buy lol..

Make sure you insure it when you send it back.
