Hey guys,

I just stripped my JR and cleaned up the mess from my last range day.
When I got the rifle, I pulled back the bolt and it sticks a bit. Since cleaning and lubing it, it seems worse. It actually sticks open sometimes.

Is this just an over-oil issue on the back of the bolt, or is there something else I should be looking at?

Are all the pieces in your buffer tube? When I changed mine, I missed the little plastic disc when reassembling it. Caused the bolt to over travel and the cocking lever hit the frame. Had to file down the little lip that the lever caused and have to place the lever in just the right place to allow the bolt to move freely now.

Live and learn on my part.

depends on his calibre, 9mm has only one piece in the buffer tube.

I have a newer 9mm, and I didn't see a plastic disc in the buffer tube. I didn't pull out the spring or buffer when I removed the stock though.
I'll try rotating the bolt extension, maybe that will help it out some.

I haven't seen any wear around the cocking handle, of course I haven't run the gun since it's first dismantle.

It's way worse then when I originally bought it.. I only have about 200 rounds through it now. I was reading through the manual a few times and watched a few videos - i'm going to switch from RemOil to some synthetic stuff that came with the gun (yeah yeah, I forgot about it)
Hopefully between synthetic and rotating the bolt carrier it'll fix it up.. I think i'll have some time this afternoon to give it a go.

I'm actually pretty frustrated with my JR, very finicky little pieces of crap. But whatever, I dished out 1000$ and now I have to deal with it.

This probably isn't the answer but I thought JR bolts were supposed to be dry lubed, not oiled. I'll have to go back & check my manual but I' pretty sure that's what it said.

Dry lubed? No, they give a little bottle of very wet lube with the rifle. those rifles are meant to be shot dripping wet lubed.

don't run them dry. I use slip 2000 with success. and I don't clean it very often. wghen I first got it I had some minor issues with it, so I babied it and cleaned it every few hundred rounds.. just hit the 1400 rnd mark since its last cleaning and it runs well. you can run into some kinda funky issues if you have the wrong (old) buffer. also, if the rubber bumper wears out it can cause some sticking problems. they are a simple blow back action so no rocket science making them work.

Drop the hammer on an empty chamber & keep the trigger depressed , Cycle the action by hand does it still stick ?

What the hell does a 858 7.62x39 rifle have to do with a pistol carbine ?
Some of us can afford more than one type of firearm. lol

Has a lot to do when you compare price per bang. Which is how much dollar per each bang I get out of this rifle before it breaks down and annoys me. Which is my own happiness ratio when it comes to firearms

cz858 more bangs before breaks per $ than JR
Same as my Tavor more bangs before breaks per $ than JR
Same as my DD AR again more bangs before breaks per $ than JR
