*If an out of spec catridge gets fed into your chamber, your gun is going down for a long time.*
I was at the range today firing some Norinco 5.56 ammo when all of a sudden, I heard a *click* after a string of firing.
I thought to myself, no biggie. So I pulled the charging handle back, saw a round that wouldn't eject, eject the magazine, let the bolt go back on it with full force, continue to pull the trigger. It still didn't go bang. Charged it a few more times but it still would not fire nor eject the round.
Finally used a rod to push the catridge out. Turns out that the shoulder of the case is way too low for the bolt to even engage the rim.
Here is a picture, left is PMC M855, right is Norinco 5.56 headstamp CJ93
I thought to myself, if I'm in the field and this happens, my gun is going down for a long time if I don't have a rod with me.
Anyone encountered this before?
