My second Remington Model 7 MS arrived today. Picked it up through conversation here on this forum, it is another sweet rifle, Rem does an outstanding job on these little full stocks. My first is a 7-08 which ended up shooting very well and now I have "big brother" the 350 RM, a cartridge I just love. As someone on here said " it hits way above it's weight class" which is a perfect desciption of my experience with the 350. My other 350 is in another Mod 7 but the original KS version, it has accounted for 7 (I think) black bears, not one needed 2 hits with the 225 Nosler ABs. I'll throw up some pics later today.

Nice! That 350 would look perfect with a FXII 2.5X on it.

What kind of velocity are you getting with the 225 ABs?

In my other 350 I'm getting 2925 fps, I have to cut the little plastic tip off the ABs to make them fit in the magazine. Bit of a pain but they sure shoot good and kill bears with outstanding aplomb.

Got a 1-5X Leupold on the other 350, I'm thinking 1.5-6 maybe, I really like the 2.5-8 as well.....................I need more scopes, my spare scope drawer is empty.
 
That version of a M7, in .350, could perhaps persuade me to buy another Remington. I swore off any more Remingtons after so many frustrations with cheap beancounter designs, malfunctions, and indifferent quality control. But the M7FS custom shop .350 has a lot going for it!! Svelte, powerful, good value, and good handling. About the perfect Canadian bush gun IMHO. The only reason I don't own one is that I invested in a Brno 22F 7x57. Had it customized by Ralf Martini and it serves the same purpose for me. But I have a weakness for the .35 caliber...
I'm sure you'll enjoy it! Congratulations on a good find.

Plywood is not as beautiful as good figured walnut, but superior to the currently fashionable cheap tupperware stocks - more consistently accurate and much quieter for hunting spooky game. I like them!

The stability of laminate aids in accuracy for sure.
That rifle is accurate!
Sellers remorse setting in...
 
I suspect Remington went with the laminate because of the ability to control stability. A 2 foot long skinny piece of walnut, must be perfectly dried, inletted and sealed 100% for it to remain stable.......maybe. The laminate is impervious to all the forces of moisture and humidity and has zero vulnerabilities...........and it would look real stupid in a plastic full stock. Which would be the only other alternative for continued lifetime accuracy.

I like that stock and rifle in general a lot, but do not understand how Rem can justify the cost of that rifle. It's not an expensive gun with high end walnut with fine checkering, it's a Model Seven in a laminated stock. If they were sold for +/- $1K, it would be a fairer deal.

I'd like to have one in 358Winchester. Once in my youth, I called the Remington CUSTOM Shop to enquire about getting one in 358. They refused. So much for the "CUSTOM" aspect.
 
Does anyone sell those laminated full stocks for 700s or M7s?

I have a factory 700 carbine in 308 bbl and action that would be good in a stock like that.
