You can keep only one

If I had to choose between my CZ 75 SP-01 Shadowline, Ruger SR-1911 and my cheap Norc 1911... id keep the norinco. If I was put in this position I would assume it would be due to $$ issues. The other two will bring WAY more money than the Norc but the norc shoots just as good as the SR does. The way I did the deal, its almost a free gun for me so why not keep it. Plus, I have 3000 rounds of 45 to shoot so I should be good for a while.

The one in my AVITAR. 357 Magnum eight shot, great for... 25, 50, 100, & 200 yard shooting. Who needs a rifle..LOL.
light 38special loads for pliking and Heavy357 15gr of Blue Dot for massive stopping power, penatration and distance

Probably a G17. I have tons of mags, several holsters, spare parts are easy to get if I somehow run out, and the gun runs well.

Emotionally there are guns I feel much more attached to but if for some reason I had to get rid of everything, I want to keep a workhorse pistol in which I have total faith.

Hi-Power Mk. III in 9

Cause, well. It's the only one I have. Kinda makes it easy. Pretty much bone stock save for the mag disconnect is removed.

It's not a race gun, and I'm not a great pistol shot but I have a lot of fun with it

My #1 choice is my 4" S&W model 29, 44 Mag. Accurate with light loads for any sort of semi formal paper punching I may be inclined to do. Also, accurate and potent enough with heavy loads to handle any other need I should have for it.

That Sir is just not playing fair. What a beautiful revolver. The book is a great read. Get by him claiming he shot an Elk and blew out it's spine then tracked it some distance it should be a must read for anyone interested in handguns.

Ruger blackhawk convertible, 6.5" barrel

38spl, .357 and 9mm

Doesn't get more versatile than that for a single handgun, this is with consideration to everything from range time, no need to carry magazines, to defence time, to ammunition availability, to shtf time, to even deer if the need ever arose. If it could only be 1, I would want the simplest, most reliable firearm that could cover the most bases in a variety of situations.

I've posted some of this info in past. After first becoming interested in handgun shooting, in very short order, Keith became one of my favorite authors. In light of that in the early to mid 70's, and after a few letters to him for handgun related info, I decided to make a trip to his home in Salmon Idaho to meet and visit with him. I ended up spending the better part of the day with him and that is definately one of the most memorable highlights of my years of hunting and shooting. As I was prepping to leave, I had him pose beside my truck for a photo.

Years later I decided I would get the same holster you see in the photo. I contacted the manufacturer, Milt Sparks, and they informed me there had been a slight design change to meet safety and liability concerns. The leather had been extended up to cover the trigger guard area.

I was however, lucky enough to get them to make me a custom replica of Keiths original:D.

Oh, I did get one more chance to meet him and that was a year or two later at a gun show in Kalispell Montana. Definately an interesting gentleman:).
;)I'll have to give you a shout the next time I get to Terrace.
