I saw the thread about shooting sub-moa at 50 yards. I wanted to see what people had at 100 yards. I'll post my target version 1.0 up. I think I did reasonably well with my recently purchased Savage mk2 bv using 50 rounds of Winchester 555 36gr bulk ammo.

Here's mine, then.

Remington 597, stock, with the 3-9 x 40 scope it came with.

100m, somewhat windy day. 5 groups of 10 (those random few at the bottom were random scatter from some 700fps quiet-22 that I decided to experiment with - didn't work well at all). IIRC, three groups were CCI Stingers, the other two were Remington Viper and Yellow Jacket.

I'm not complaining!

That's some nice shooting for a stock .22LR. I think I had issues getting groups that good at 100 yards with a .30-06, but I'm sure a lot of that is inexperience. I'll have to try this myself once I get my rifle...

This is a group I shot in Aug 2011 while testing ammo for a project Savage Mk.II rifle.:

It's hard to tell size with the blank page, but the aiming dot at the top of the page is ~5/8" in diameter. The group measures 0.95", was my first sub-MOA rimfire group at 100yds. This is the rifle:

It originally had a Bushnell 3200 5-15x50AO on it for testing, now wears a Vortex 4-16x44AO as its permanent optic.

To the OP....very well done!! Particularly with bulk ammo.

I have had great success with many 22 rimfire rifles at 100 meters once I
find the ammo they like.
Bulk ammo is "iffy" at best, downright terrible at worst.

Here is an example from my 541T a while ago.
This is 10 shots at 100 with ammo that I consider "middle of the road", but it shoots well in this particular rifle.
Feeding it ammo that really shines, I have won matches at 100 with this 541.

Regards, Eagleye.

Good shooting everyone. .22 target shooting is fun.

A year ago, in a Marlin 60 thread I suggested my two Marlins consistently shoot similar groups at 100 M. Some people found it hard to believe and I found it hard to believe that theirs didn't. I also get the same from my TC Bench but that is expected from a target rifle. I guess what I missed was that some .22s are inherently more accurate than others and not necessarily very expensive ones.

Once you get your hands on an accurate rifle, like Eagleye suggested, find the ammo that your rifle likes...and have fun.

I have settled on CCI Mini Mags for both hunting and target shooting.
