My current 870 in attempts to create a do-it-all shotgun. After attempting the wingmaster route (getting too expensive to do what I wanted) I started over and went with something that had threaded choke tube and good irons from factory. Removed the cheezy (IMO) breacher choke and added a factory imp. cylinder, Removed the stock and added the Mesa Leo with a magpul stock and rubber butt plate. Switched to a FAB fore end with a rubber ladder cover for the bottom rail as I found this is actually very comfortable and gives a very good grip. Removed the mag clamp and put a UTG sling swivel with a 2-point adjustable sling on the left FAB rail, and a tac light on the right (that is removed when the shotgun is actually in use lol). and finally added a mesa side saddle. Overall feels very nice and I have a mesa high tube coming to check and see how that is with a red dot, I will post pics and results.

 
^ Ya I know I starting to think going with the express tac from the factory would be a better idea cost wise. I got a really good deal on a wingmaster ($250) turns out I had to buy a new barrel for it for $200. Destroyed the value equation. Now I still need to buy a tube extension and all the other bells and whistles. I could have bought an express tac with all the features i want for a few hundred dollars less.

Old Wingmaster build almost done:
-Magpul stock with sling plate
-Magpul MS3 sling
-S&J 4/6rnd velcro shell holders
-S&J safety
-S&J follower
-Surefire forend
-Hiviz fiber optic bead

To finish it I think I'll change to a XS Big Dot sight and some sort of refinish. Any suggestions? Has some rust issues currently, but I'm hoping to stick with a non-baking spray can finish since I don't have a lot of equipment. I also want to keep the chrome bolt, so debating receiver colours of black, OD green, and FDE.

I tried a S&J front sling plate that comes out on the left side, but the ball bearing on it that's meant to lock down the magtube nut doesn't seem to line up well. Results in my barrel being loose.
 
Just received this today.

Not sure if it is tactical or not, only thing I know is that after dumping 19 mags down range, a good stiff drink is in order !

I painted my shorty with some Aervo brand sparay bomb paint. Picked it up at DS Tactical in New West. Many many camo shades to choose from. Holds up good enough... definitely not Dura coat though. I removed the blueing on the receiver with CLR and some effort.

As far as the detent.... I took the cordless drill and countersunk a minor divot in the barrels mag tube ring where the ball detent contacts. Now my Smile face mag tube caps locks down tight..... barrel too.

love the short barreled 870's with wood stocks, that's was an option for me when I did mine, but I love the idea of a short barrel 870 with collapsible stock, so that's what I did.
I've had pics in this thread already but recent issues with photobucket lost a lot.

12.5" Dominion Arms Grizzly with ATI stock and forend, tacstar side saddle, and cheap walmart sling, i'm really happy with it.

I posted pics of my shotty before, no changes since then, but I got a new lens for my camera so I took her out to take a few test shots. I still can't seem to nail a really awesome photo yet, but I guess I'll keep playing around.

Nice collection of shotties you guys have, some really cool toys make mine look pretty plain-jane. Nothing special about my 870 except some Magpul furniture...no rails, no sights, no red dot...on my wish list, but no money, haha!
