How to clean these marks?

I've got a couple little marks on the receiver of my rifle from putting a piece of cardboard around it before putting it in the vice.
I wanted to ask if anybody has a trick to get these marks off before I did something stupid like take a brush to them and scratch up the receiver.
The wont come off with a cloth or finger nail.

And this is the first gun I've built from scratch so I've been over cautious. Except with the vice, lol. The novelty will wear off soon enough.

Its a tool NOT jewellery. Do you care if your drill or saw get scuffed up a bit ? Same goes for 4wd trucks , if your worried about scratching them up you should of bought a 2wd car. Life's too short ,run em hard ..
