After occasionally seeing posts about broken parts on CZ858, I can't recall ever seeing similar about the Sks.
Has anybody ever actually had a part break that stopped you 100 percent? I am not talking bad ammo and jams or lack of accuracy or a ####ty scope mount or pitted bore or cheesy rail fell off, but a real genuine stop you in your tracks mechanical failure in the action.
Very curious to see any trends. Thanks

There was someone here a while ago posted some pics of his bolt that was coming apart. If he had not caught it in time it may have caused some problems.

I bought a russian 1956 SKS in 1995. Well used, mismatched. The action wouldnt cycle properly because of a very loose gas tube. Gas was leaking at the gas block where the tube connect. After replacing the gas tube, never had any malfnction. bottom line, parts failure are rare.

No time have I ever had to go home but my SKS has a problem with stove piping live rounds once in a while. About every 100 rounds it does it twice. Kind of scary. Makes you think its going to explode in your face.

I had a Yugo 59/66 that had a worn / faulty piece in the gas block that made it a single shot. Once I replaced it, it was good to go.

I know a guy at the Campbell river gc that had a norinco sks that had the barrel walking away from the receiver.it was a pinned version.
