I might fit that rifle with a Hilux CMRAK 1X4X24 ( got one brand new one unfired ) since the ballistics with Leverevolution 160 gr is very comparable to the 7.62X39... JP.

That seems to be what most the younger generation go for these days, something black and plastic. But, as others have mentioned, we need to get more younger people into the sport, and if that is what it takes. That and getting him out to spend quality time. Let us know how it shoots.
