Benelli SBE 2 vs Versamax

So I guess SBE II it is!

Now if I could just find someone that carries the 24" version... I only seem to be able to find the 28" and that seems a bit long for gun games.

A longer sight radius might be a good thing...

If you don't crowd barricades or put your barrel through ports I don't think an extra 4" is much of a hinderance.

I agree. Have a SBE II and a Vinci and the SBE II is has way more Pros. The vinci is nicer/faster to load though.

My SBE II mag tube is 9 3/8 long externally. I use the original follower and a little longer spring.

I emailed Benelli for an extended vinci mag and they said no in Canada.

O.k. so if the Vinci is nicer/faster to reload over sbe2, then what are the better pros you're talking about to make it a better 3gun choice, as OP is regarding ? faster reloading is one key thing in 3 gun, so if sbe2 is slower than that, which better features are directly involved to make it better choice for 3 gunnin ? is it less recoil/muzzle rise ? or other ?

You do need a "speed bolt" for vinci and will have to use a dremel tool on both vinci and sbe2 to make fast loading comfortable. No one runs stock unmodified receiver...

Where can you pick up extensions for benelli's up here? I've looked high and low for a +4 for my supernova, and come up with nothing, and Brownells won't ship one without an export licence.

If you follow the tutorial at http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?430501-Brownells-Importing-Tutorial it's hard to go wrong. I had an IIC from DFAIT in < 24 hours via email and it took less than an hour to fill out the paperwork. Hardest part was going to the Post Office because I didn't have a US stamp to mail it.

you guys talking about modding it should talk to casey at tacord.... rumour has it he is buying himself one and will tac'ing it out. so he may become the go to guy for the versa max's

Did you contact Benelli USA or Italy? Benelli Italy refers Canadian parts questions to Stoger Canada. Stoger Canada is the Canadian distributor.

I don't have any experience with the Benelli's but here's an example of what you can do with a versamax.

This is the 26" synthetic model with following mods:

Nordic component +6 extension pinned to hold 7, 2 3/4 shells. With ghost load and one in the pipe it'll hold 9 rounds.
Nordic component clamp
Nordic components extended bolt handle (I believe this one is for the benelli m2)
Nordic component follower
As seen in the second picture I picked up a CRUMS lifter, just haven't had a chance to install it yet

I was hesitant to buy a Remington but the concept won me over and I'm happy to say that so far I've been nothing but happy with it.
As for the setup I had 3 gun in mind when I put it together and so far I am really happy with how it's performed. I probably would have bought the 22" version if it wasn't labelled 3" but after getting the 26" I'm glad that I did as this can double as a sporting clays or skeet gun.

it's a Reminelli. no, wait, it's a Benellington! either way, the options look limitless here.

I recently bought a Benelli SBE2 in camo with pistol grip and 24" barrel. It cost me $2200. If you are looking for a 24" look for a turky gun. It still comes with all the other choke tubes also.
I also have a MESA Tactical Side saddle on it.

I want to switch to load 2 and quad loading, so I don't want a pistol grip.

All capacity +'s
SBE II has the mag extension option, couldn't find one for the Vinci. 2 3/4's - SBE mag holds 7, vinci 3 with no plug.
SBE II is 3.5, my Vinci is 3"(they didn't have the super-vinci when I bough mine) - more capacity.
SBE II can be modded to ghost load a shell, I couldn't do it with my vinci, tried everything. So, again capacity.
Vinci is a little easier to load, both guns stock lifters.

Also, I found an SBE barrel for 350 and cut it down to 18.5 and got it threaded for chokes. SBE II barrel isn't as good for this because of the vent rib spacing. Can not find a Vinci barrel for anything close to 350.

For the other question;
Contacted Ashley Ryan at Stoeger Canada about getting Vinci extended mag tubes. She said no go.

As I'm looking into a few of these options myself, I'm puzzled by pricing.

Models like the VersaMax, SX3, Browing show one price on their websites, and of course dealers in U.S. sell for just a bit less than that, no problems there...and in Canada, these guns sell for very close to that price these manufactures websites show...
Example... one of these shows...$1200, and U.S. dealers are selling for $1,000 - $1,050...and candian dealers are selling $1,150-$1250 max....close enough, or in around...
another example...more direct and actual..Browning A5, website shows $1599 for the hunter model, and can be bought here for $1300..not sure price in U.S...

BUT for Benelli (maybe beretta too), the U.S. website shows $1350, and in canada, the price is $1,800....wtf ? $450 more for some special tax or what's up Stoeger canada ?????

You need to shop around... I paid $1525 for my M2... The sticker price was $1575.
I asked for a 3% discount since I was paying cash (no credit card fees)... So they took $50 off.
