good 22lr revolver? any thoughts??

check in EE for S&W17 and try to be the first to pm.......otherwise a new double action revolver in 22lr will be $$$

There aren't very many good .22 double action revolvers; S&W and Ruger are the only game in town unless you can find and are willing to pay for a Korth or Manurhin. I would avoid anything else.

$750 used........only $50 more than a new one, if and when you can find one

Pay to play I guess.

Ruger floodgates should be opening soon right for us SP101 .22 wannabe owners, right?

You have said you want D/A. I have a Ruger .22LR/.22 WMR convertable it is single action. The .22 Mag is a fun round to shoot. I have the 6" bbl. The longer bbl the better as the Mag round is a rifle round not for short bbls. I'm just saying the option to convert to .22 Mag is a fun choice. The .22 Mag can be compared to the 5.7mm round in a sorta way. The 5.7mm is crazy expensive while the .22 mag is reasonable not cheap but affordable. Just something to consider.

Looking for a good 22 DA revolver while specifying no to S&W really narrows the field considerably. You could look at a Colt(rare and expensive, but very nice)or a Ruger(hard to come by)or perhaps a Dan wesson(also hard to find).Personally I would stay clear of Taurus or Charter arms. The S&W model 17 is really the go to revolver if you want a good quality gun and they are generally pretty easy to come by.
