Mags for PPQ

I am on the lookout for mags to a ppq I just bought, and I noticed that most places have the mags as P99 & PPQ.
After a quick internet search I discovered that a generation of P99 will not fit.

Can I encounter any problems down the road while using the P99 compatible mags? or should I invest the money in PPQ mags.

Walther indicates in the ppq manual to now switch mags around. I know this can indicate 'do not use p99 1st gen' etc...Anyway, I am looking for some real advice from ppq users.
I want the gun to be reliable 100% and I am not interested in experimenting nor modifying p99 mags to make them work.

It's pretty straight forward. PPQ mags work in the P99, but P99 mags don't work in the PPQ. Although, to muddy up the water a bit, the "Fast Action" Eagle pistol mags by Magnum Research will work as PPQ mags in the PPQ and P99 as well. But the standard Jericho pistol mags aren't interchangeable, they have more in common with CZ75 mags. CZ75 mags don't work in the PPQ

We're expecting our shipment of P99 and PPQ mags next week.
 
I read in another forum that P99 mags from the last gen work great, they have the red follower (apparently).
Maybe you can give us more info on that?

I also understand that MR mags work as well, they are cheaper apparently. I am not interested in those mags though.

Sorry but I find your post a little confusing. If you could clarify for other users to understand as well, that would be nice. Otherwise it sounds to me like you are trying to sell your mags, which is ok, but straight forward & honest info would be useful for those reading later on.

I have three "MR" mags for my PPQ and they are identical and have functioned flawlessly. I checked the Walther forums before purchasing them and everyone reported the same results, plus as you stated they are cheaper.

Not true. 1st gen P99 Mags will work if modified (not ideal) And 2nd gen work perfect with no mods. At least they did in mine.
 
I've got some MR's on backorder as well...cheaper and pinned to 10 equals win-win.....:dancingbanana:
I've also used the 99's and haven't had any issues.
 
Might be worth saying that the P99 .40 magazines, at least the newer ones, will fit into the PPQ. The feed lips are about 1/64" too large, so it might be possible to tweak them to work.

It just seems like the P99 .40 mags are far more available than PPQ mags.
 
i thought the PPQ barrel was too short for canada(prohib)? unless you have the Navy?
email irunguns, they can import them for you... im considering getting a PPQ next but i want to make sure its not a prohin

Buy it, buy it naow! The navy is the only one currently on the market in Canada. Theoretically there's another version coming out, the M2 or something, that has a more traditional button magazine release.

It's a seriously ###y pistol, and the people who complain about the extended barrel have no taste.
 
i wanted the Navy, but im going to try to have it imported...they are about $400 less in the states..also, i wanted it in a 40sw but i tink it was onl ever made in a 9mm?
the extended barrel for me is no issue, so long as its threaded so it actually looks like its like that for a reason...

I hated the threaded barrel for about 45 seconds, I have not shot this baby yet, but I am loving it just by looking at it, lol. Looks like a very very promising platform that might go head to head with my P30.
I love the quality, the feel, the ergos, the sigths (same sights as in my P30), very nice little gun. very few moving parts and very easy to take down and strip with almost no tools.

As for importing, after fees and GST you will end up very close to the price it is offered here in Canada, so it is a no brainer.
