Been posting this one up all over CGN, but I figured this would be the right place ;) Will play with her (strip, cleanup, mounting, more pics) later on tonight, range report tomorrow!

Hail to the comrades of the Communist Party of the People's Republic of China!

Give us details and close ups! Is it mostly metal or polymer plastic? I know nothing about bullpups give us every detail.

Will do.. She'll get a field strip after dinner and then I'll post up more pics, especially once she gets scoped. Can't wait to bring her to the range tomorrow (almost tempted to go out tonight but I wanna be reasonably fresh for our rifle league tomorrow so I'll take a pass). The peeps are very nice but I'll need to run glass for what I'm gonna be using her for. If I get another, she'll run completely stock, as a nice bush gun.

Eat fast!!!
I'll be leaving mine stock. Looking forward to your tear down and review.

Just finished eating and will sit down with my new love and her user's manual. I'm tempted to buy the SFRC rail as I really like the peeps on it. I'm not sure if I can help with the barrel assessment as the only rifle where I could get a good look at the bore is chrome-lined so I wouldn't know the difference between chrome-lined and not chrome lined. Not a major issue as most 223 on our market is Boxer-primed and non-chrome means better accuracy.

You lucky dog ;). I only own 2 guns that are for hunting and I've been thinking about breaking the ice and finally get a gun that's meant for fun and the Type 97 is on that list. Waiting for reviews on them before getting one.

She is back together.. Been messing around with the optics.. On a good note, the CanAm mount works even though Clob's that SFRC is selling is a better solution as it still allows you to use the peep, which I really like. On a bad note, even with low rings you have to use a chin-weld and if you are gonna scope it, you need to go with a short relief shorty. This full-sized scope was moved as far forward as possible and it was still about 4cm behind the peep, also had clearance issues with the rail, plus it looks out of place. I'll test it out at the range tomorrow.

I'd probably either go with a shorty/red dot or not bother scoping it at all.

A massive cheek riser might help lol

That's what I was thinking when I first saw it.

Will play around with some options when I get mine.
