saw a mention in a long lost forgotten thread that you once had some in, i'm really wanting one these days.
what was (if any) the issue with them? saw a mention they were unreliable or the such.
also I understand norinco is not producing them right now, with enough demand, would they?

thank you.

i read at one point that its 10000 units for a run, or 1000. eather way thats alot of cash to put out up front.

Not having high hopes in getting one haha. Figured I'd see what the deal was.

So.... Might I ask why? I mean what is wrong with 7.62x39?

I already stock/reload bulk .223 for my AR15 figured it would compliment well.
I think I will still get one in 7.62x39

Thanks to those who replied quickly.

Just to let you know I,ve had 2 friends over the years that had a 223 version of the sks and both where garbage and wouldn't feed and cycle properly. They both end up dumping them and both had paid major bucks for them.If they do come along I hope they get the bugs worked out cause Im sure they would sell big time.--Dieseldog!

Exactly who in the world would want it in. 223
7.62x39 is far superior at 75 yards the force upon impact is equal to that of a. 44 magnum and if you use hollowpoint or polymer tip ammo the entry wound would more than compensate for the yaw and tumble of the. 223 round. also the .223 trajectory is compromised even by foliage of tree branch's and definitely lacks the penetration that the 7.62x39 has.

If fixed I'd be interested..

A lot of southern Ontario has a .275 calibre restriction for hunting, .223 is legal as a coyote/varmint/plinking round while the 7.62 is restricted to a range toy.

A .223 SKS is simply sacrilege. It looses it's historical significance. It also isn't the best platform anyway.

Wish You all the best but I for one wouldn't even consider such a rifle in .223

+1

I see no point in a .223 sks...
