Finally got a round to overhauling my Ruger 1911 and took a few shots of the end product.

Tightened and honed frame and slide. 25 LPI hand checkered strap. Brown, Wilson, EGW, STI parts, Heinie sights and VZ Grips. Trigger set with very little take-up at 4 lbs.

Professionally refinished by Arma-Coat (thanks Barrett). Will take it out tomorrow and see how it runs.

Thanks guys.

True - 'refinished' is probably a bit dramatic! After all the filing and sanding the frame and slide needed to be bead blasted along with the new parts to get a consistent finish.

Nice pistol but why do guys always take a pic of handguns and their watches??? Am I missing something?

My guess is that there are a lot of gun enthusiasts that are also watch enthusiasts.

As for the gun, it looks so much better in all stainless than with the black controls as they come from Ruger. I wish Ruger would offer their 1911 in at least one of the following finish configurations:

-All stainless
-All black
-Two-tone with black slide and stainless frame and frame parts.

They can't even catch up with back orders. They stopped taking/filling any new orders in 2013. Don't expect any changes in options until 2015 or after that. Besides, If one could buy a Ruger like the one the OP "made" the only fun left in the gun is shooting it...what kind of fun is that!?
