I don't want a modded Frankengun. Just give me the basic gun at the reasonable price that we all want! But a manual bolt hold open and a chrome lined barrel would be nice? Oh yeah a bayonet lug?? extra mags , rail???

These guns are not flying out the door at the dealers that made such a hype about buy now or you will be out of luck . Not to mention the arrogant posts by the other importer that they & they alone have the only T97 approved for Canada and the next shipment will be higher price !
When CanAmmo's shipment shows up who will be laughing then

I love CanAm and bought many a gun and ammo case from the - but the reality is there truly is only 1 model T97 approved for Canada by 1 importer. Until the guns are on the ground, in the hands of thousands of gunnuts, nothing is approved. So technically, yes, that is, for now, a monopoly (which really isn't a bad thing - as it signals an opportunity for competition to enter the market).

Knowing CBSA and the RCMP are gooning and have gooned importers like Wolverine and CanAm, I say the $200 price difference is worth getting the model we have now vs risking the gooberment goombas screwing over importers in the future. That said, if (not when) CanAm gets his shipment in, I'm in for two.

Just think about the CZ858. There only 8000 CZ858s and that was enough to keep the horsemen from reclassifying all 858s (for now).

I was at the Shooting Edge and noted the serials on the current batch numbers they had in stock are in the 1600s. Mine are in the 300 range. I think it's plausible that this shipment from NSR is in the 2000s, which effectively is a VERY strong beachhead to protect this gun from government shenanigans.

Not likely to see a non-reciprocating charging handle. Likely upgrades I'd like to see:
  • QBZ95-1 safety position (up front)
  • Better magwell (jeebus, why don't they just take a peek at their CQ-A and copy that?)
  • Better mag release (bigger button, ambi-possible, etc)
  • Bayo lug
  • Included factory sling (those 3/4" loops are difficult to deal with)

Us Canadians will still have to resolve:
  • Flat top upper. Likely an aluminum unit and some hacking and slashing to the factory hardware will be required.
  • Side charging handle add-on. (especially if there's a tighter flat top upper on that gives less room for fingers to grab that charging handle)

It'd be fantastic if those options could come from factory, but we can't expect much more than what they produce for their own military.

the only feature I care about is the bayonet lug, cause its prominent in the picture on can ams site... seriously that pic needs to be updated or say something about not actually being the product for sale.

I agree, the website is kind of bad for describing what they sell; countless times I've had to google products that I've seen listed. They should at least put a quick description of ALL of their products.

Maybe they come with the lug and a bayonet to put on it?

nope, it means we make changes, which adds time.

Well I canceled my pre-order with you because I was passing on the rifle in general, given some ergonomics and reliability issues. Are you able to speak to 'changes' and 'better' that may have me change my mind? Anything to do with, feed ramps, non reciprocating charging handle, better sights or optic options, mag release change, non pinned brake / flash hider? Any one of these changed will make me re-evaluate, any two and it's a sure purchase Happy to pay more than the pre-order too!

I guess it comes down to personal preference, but i gotta ask, whats so special about a bayo lug?
I dont have a knife to hang on it, and I think the whole concept of trench warfare fighting with a bullpup is beyond goofy, so I dont see the attraction at all.
