My take on the SU-16, manually machined trigger assembly with pistol grip

Just thought I'd show off my custom su-16.
when I originally bought it the back end of the receiver was broken off right at the point the bolt would finish it's travel so I assumed that's what broke it, this prevented the stock from being fully secured to the receiver using the two pins. I wanted to see if it actually worked so I zap-strapped it together and headed off to the range. I went through 40 rnds no problem so I was pretty happy about that.
Long story short, 35hrs and a pile of chips later this is what I came up with.

Yep I shot it and it works fine. I plan on getting it anodized after I'm sure about the functionality.

I also had a receiver that cracked like described and Kel Tec / Vault replaced the entire rifle. But I would have rather it not cracked and pay more for a metal rear receiver like this one.

What is the weight difference now? No problems with folding?

That is the weak point in this guns design if you ask me.

Mleh, I hear you on that. After I went to the AR/pistol grip kit you couldn't fold it all the way anyway.

Its slightly heavier now but not by much, it feels more balanced to me.
Folding wise it does ok but the pistol grip doesn't allow it to fold as tightly. I didnt really care how well it was going to fold when making this.

I do plan to anodize it but I might make some slight changes.
The aluminum fitting actually holds the receiver down onto the assembly, I didn't want to secure the assembly directly to the plastic receiver because I didn't have much material to work with and I felt this design was stronger.
