Pistol grip 14" Mossbergs - not SBS in the US!?

Good point, any rifle or shotgun can be fired with one hand, although that movie would have been more realistic if each of the full stocked Mossbergs flew out of his hand after every shot. (among other obvious fallacies)

Maybe with goose loads or something but Ive fired PGO shotguns one handed with lighter loads. Its not fun but there was no loss of control. This is a ridiculous debate to begin with but there is just to much grey area on both sides of the argument here. The law is the law so mod accordingly

So is it illegal in Canada to convert a shotgun to the setup that they have on that site?

I believe that it would become restricted no? But other than that, it should be fine from my understanding.

Why would this be any harder for us to get then the Rossi Ranch hand Mares leg.
It's classed as a pistol down there also, and they let that across.

Uncle Sam thinks shotguns are special....although according the the link in the first post it seems Uncle Sam doesn't consider PGO's as shotguns!

You can take any Mossberg 500 JIC shotgun and put a birdseye pistol grip on it. Its non restricted when you buy it cause the bbl is 18.5 inchs and the OAL is not less then 26 inches. As long as the grip that you put on does not make the gun less then 26 inches OAL, your good to go.

Mine already made it here, and was installed yesterday. I called the RCMP techs and they confirmed that it is non-restricted.

Thanks to those on the board that helped out with determining feasibility

The only drawback I found on the Raptor grip was that it's a little smooth. So I cut a 2" piece of bicycle tire tube, took the grip off, slid the tube over the smallest part of the grip. Now it's perfect.

i guess one could use grip tape or stipple it if they really wanted a rough grip.

I can't believe it. There have been 4 pages of postings and Sunray hasn't shown up telling you that a pistol gripped shotgun is the most useless thing on earth, (but they sure are a lot of fun :dancingbanana:)

Bahhaha no he'd show up and say that all pistol grips are illegal and you'll probably go to jail.

Actually it is non-restricted because it is over the 26" OAL limit. Being a manual action centerfire, the barrel length makes no difference at all.

I can't believe that Gunguy34 resurrected an almost 2 year old thread.
