The AK-74 deal was nice, but it seems Marstar had fewer than 20 of those to go around... I'd love more exotic deals. And what's stopping them from getting more AK-74s? FA 74s are a dime a dozen in the world.

where did you see the 20 AKs ? how do you know that's all there was?
While the AK-74 may be pretty common in the world, there are only about 50 in this country. They will never again fire a round but they can now be held/examined/displayed, appreciated by responsible owners.
A lot more than that chief, check out Collectors Source some time. AK's of all flavours, shapes, and colours show up all the time. John happened to get a crate of really nice unissued dewats, so they should be worth more than the usual beat-to-snot expensive parts-kit AK dewats that are out there, definitely make some nice mantle pieces!

Here we go again with statements without knowing the facts....
We received a hell of lot more than 20 units....
Since you seem to know so much I would like to hire you to do some purchasing for us.... You seem to have the knowledge and connections....
"a dime a dozen" I will pay you for such information
John
I see customer service is not in your nature John. I am sure a lot of people here respect you because of what you have done for firearms in Canada but that being said you have no right to talk to people like that. You are always so quick to jump down someones throat and then always take it a step further with some sarcastic statement that is completely uncalled for.
understand the whole customers are always right thing.. but people who are bashing him are just in the wrong as well.. honestly, this is why most industries don't communicate online with customers in this fashion... through forums, because the ridiculous internet slander because you're hiding behind a keyboard is insane.
i would love to see one of these loud mouths spouting off all this #### go into his store and say these things face to face and try to back them up.

Seeing as Marstar is more of a wholesaler/distributor with no bricks & mortar retail store I think they provide better customer service than most on-line retailers. I for one appreciate the little glimpses into the inner workings of Marstar's business afforded by John's post's. Besides that, when you read some of the other comment's in these threads I don't blame John one bit for being sarcastic on occasion. Personally I wouldn't be half as kind or reserved as he is.
FWIW-
Having been involved in this business previously, all I see is a businessman and owner trying to call out and negate statements that have no basis in fact and to protect his business's reputation. I try not to speak until I have FACTS at my disposal. Even if the poster was correct-that was STILL a helluva deal for those who wished to partake.
All the guy said was it was a nice deal and there was to few of them to go around. That is absolutely no reason to talk to him the way John did. Who cares if the guy was wrong on the amount of packages that were available.
is it anyones business but Marstar's as to if he wants to state how many packages were made available.. or how many AK's he brought in?
