Hey guys.. I am looking for owners opinions on these shotguns.... I am not familiar with shotguns one bit.... however I am considering one for 2 reasons....
#1 Defence from wildlife in the bush.. reliability is key in this situation.
#2 Something I don't have, that can be useful.

Thanks for your time and comments.

I have a 12.5" tube fed shorty and I really like it. Big spread when using buckshot big seems decently accurate with slugs. Seems reliable and well built. Only thing is that it seems mind of heavy but handles 3" mags okay.

I also own a 12.5 tube fed. I found it to be very reliable (I've put about 2500 rounds through it so far). As canuckiron stated, the spread on the short barrel is quite large but the gun accepts standard Rem 870 barrels. Ive equipped mine with an aftermarket stock and a longer barrel that my friends and I use to blast clays once in a while. Can't argue with the price and the build quality is good.

I sold my DA grizzly to fund another project, but side by side to my remington 870 express, the Chinese one is IMO better quality.
There is nothing wrong with the dominion arms shotgun and I would buy another in a heartbeat.

Can't stand it. Finish literally peeled off and it was a jam-o-matic. Only good thing is the short barrel fits on my wingmaster, however the front site post actually fell out of the barrel and I had to buy an aftermarket stick on one to replace it.

reliability is not number one but with i solve it with remington express triger group and slide pump assembly

I had a 8.5'' tube fed, and currently own a 8.5'' mag fed. Both are super reliable. The finish is not the fanciest one, but it's pretty resistant to wear and keep the gun from rusting. The actions get slicker as you use them. If I had to chose a gun for wildlife defense, I would go with a 12.5'' tube fed with bead sight anytime! They are cheap and work flawlessly.

I almost purchased one 2 day ago, but decided to buy a 870 and bought the 12.5 barrel from canada ammo, best of both world as I will have the 28in barrel if I want to go duck hunting, and since there is a lot of 870 on the used market, you can get an almost new one + the extra barrel for the same price as the DA. But the DA seems to have better steel than the 870, but it's extremely heavy for it's small size, a good thing to consider if you plan on walking with it for a long time.

I have owned 2.

They have their flaws.

One was pretty good after some polishing and grinding a feed ramp into the breech end of the barrel. The other had issues with lifter timing.

I would not bet my life on one.

I have a 12.5". Solid and heavy, but it's a gun that can make the long haul. Very reliable. Just keeps on going, and going, and going..........

I have owned many , i would say 70% work perfect out of box. But sometimes the other 30% take some minor tinkering to get running perfect .. Usually involves removing a burr somewhere with some sand paper or a small file .. But i have found since Norinco has been using the plastic trigger assembly i have seen more shell lifting and timing issues.

I hit 12 of 25 clays in a regular round of Skeet with my DA 12" SxS. Love the exposed hammers, and the "obnoxiously" loud retort. In fact it was only cause someone was wincing every time she let roar that it ended up on the skeet line; though the field owner does not approve of such short barrels on firearms and I doubt it'll get to see that line again. ((Personally I'm sure they're just jelly that I can enjoy cheap fun)).

Don't forget that Rem 870's are cheap when purchased used. You'll find that the Rem line offers more choice in cosmetic and high speed low drag accessories than the Norc stuff ((even their 870 doesn't take ALL accessories with out modifications either)). So if its a price point thing, start looking used. If its because Norc has something you like, go for it.

Norc's got the reliability, just not the fit and finish; but truth be told most of that is answered already. (Sand paper and some polishing compounds).

I love my 8.5" mag fed its sooooo much fun. it doesnt like cheap target shells tho
