The stuff people will say on places like facebook is unbelievable, I say good for her and congrats for legally hunting an animal.

Pretty bad when you are outed this badly for having a hobby.

Too many people with nothing to do and all day to do it once again.

The comments are priceless!!! One even says she isn't demonstrating feminine behavior!

They have NO idea what the funding goes to for a lot of these hunts. Conservation, animal preserves etc etc. Hell, some people even wished death to her, WTF???

lots of "conservation means don't kill anything!" comments... yuou know cause having all the prey species hunted out to low levels and then the predators starve off is such a good plan for "saving" endangered species

Not much wonder the masses are outraged considering the way hunters continue to bash hunters.....I don't worry much about the opinions of the antis but our own will be the death of hunting. Time to look closer to home folks.

Completely agree. I think people need to start minding their own business and realizing there's 1000 different ways to skin a cat. So long as there isn't any unnecessary cruelty involved with the killing part of the hunt and its legal, I say have at it and have fun.

People who subscribe to that ridiculous idea should probably do some reading on the history of conservation efforts in North America in particular.

Funny how #### all happens to people posting pictures of themselves using illegal drugs on facebook, but outrage is sparked when people post pictures of themselves partaking in the legal activities of hunting and shooting. ####ed up world we live in.

They claim that "conservation means don't kill anything", yet they're totally oblivious to the fact that hunters are the ones who started wildlife conservation in the first place and continue to be the biggest supporters and source of revenue for wildlife conservation efforts.

I wonder how much time and money these anti hunters have put towards wildlife conservation....

The link didn't work for me, so I'm not sure which hunter we're talking about, but there was one (Michelle Eichler?) who aired an episode recently in which she arrowed a lion. The circumstances were such that it was painfully apparent that it was a canned hunt, in an enclosure, targeting a lion which was far from truly "wild" and quite possibly even drugged.

Lions are, or have been until recently, bred in South Africa specifically for this purpose. It is, or was, totally legal, and although most find it extremely distasteful, apparently there were plenty of people happy to do it. Naturally the antis seized upon this practice like harpies, and it's hard to defend something that you yourself don't approve of...the best that most hunters can do is say "to each his own" and carry on. Some are very strident in their condemnation of the practice, and so of course the antis have even more ammo to use against us: "Look! Even other hunters won't do this! BAN! BAN! BAN!"

To add insult to injury, a lot of guys who went to Africa for a true hunt were hoodwinked into thinking that they were shooting a wild lion, never realizing or suspecting that the critter behind the crosshairs had a pedigree, a name and no natural instincts. When they proudly showed photos of their "trophies" and were called out, well, that's where the fighting starts! Bad situation all around.

Lots of types of lion hunting operations in South Africa.....some good....some bad....they definitely can't all be lumped into one group.

There will always be people who do not understand the views and actions of others.

So they hate us for killing things and we hate them for not agreeing with us. Sounds like a good recipe for...more of the same.

When ever I meet someone who does not understand hunting I try to enlighten and educate them. Sometimes it works. Poking a finger in their eye never seems to bring any positive results.

I have never had to defend or explain shooting lions which is good because I don't know if I could come up with any reasonable explanation. Same with alligators and some other critters that some hunters feel they must kill.

I doubt many feel they "must" kill them. I suspect most want to experience the hunt..............
