My "new" 1949 SKS from Westrifle

And I apologized for it, publicly. This is assuming it's me that's being talked about. I'm definitely man enough to take my licks, even in another country. Aside from my lack in posting judgement, ljones, your '49 is one of, if not the most amazing I've ever seen and I congratulate you here, as I did at the other place on finding it and acquiring it for your collection. Definitely would be the crown jewel of mine. Bravo.

I thank you for your apology and publicly accept it. It is just sad that what transpired tainted what could have been an absolutely amazing thread...

I completely agree, which is another reason I regret what and how I said it. Still, because that particular firearm seems to have no quickly identifiable reason for the <> refurb mark, perhaps when you get the opportunity to further photos, so everyone can examine, learn and postulate some new theories, it can be redeemed. Maybe inside of a new thread. But that is there, this is here. I'm actually here partially to follow further comments and observations from folks on this forum about your carbine. While I have not made much of an attempt to follow many of the specimens coming into Canada, it's still a small world in the SKS community, so I know about many of them. I hope yours receives a lot of attention from the collectors here, too.

Welcome Drago I have read many of your posts on the SKS Boards and your knowledge will be welcomed here .I have never joined that site but I do get on it to read the posts.
I find it to be a good site with a lot of knowledgeable members. The only thing that rubs me the wrong way is the way that certain members respond to some of your new members on the SKS Boards. I see one of those members is on this site also. I hope he realise that he is a new guy here and conducts himself accordantly.

Ok instead of starting a whole new thread , I'll just ask in this one. Using the cleaning kit from my '52 Tula . With either the jag or brush on the rod inserted into the muzzle end , I'm about half inch short of exiting into the chamber! Shouldn't the jag come thru all the way?

I wonder who he could be........?????

Actually... this is my thread. And, I would appreciate it if we could back to discussing mine, and yours, '49 SKS carbines. Our enthusiasm for this great Soviet firearm should supercede petty squabbles. As my mother always said, if you have nothing positive to share, keep your mouth shut. Unfortunately, we all sometimes forget that golden rule. Group hug.
