My first reloading F*#! up

I much prefer the Hdy collet puller over the silly kinetic that I own. For .223 the collet will grip nicely. What rifle were you planning on shooting them out of? If it's a bolt gun, you could try a couple, just make sure the bullet leaves the barrel as others have said.

The way I look at it is, why waste the powder. Its so easy to remove the bullet and just reload to what you want.

To translate an observation from the Unix admin world: Until you've messed something up, you can't call yourself a reloader.....

Good thing you caught it before it caused a problem.

Well I bought a kinetic puller on my way home tonight. I figure since I enjoy the process of reloading anyway I should just pull these apart and start over. No sense in taking chances!
Again I thank you all for your help.

Shove an ear plug in the end where the bullet drops to prevent any damage to the tip of the dislodged bullet then giver $hit!

I was ladder loading some rounds and had finished up a box of 100, with 10 rounds on each load.
Last time I checked the box they were in I discovered it must have been knocked over because all those rounds fell out of their slots into a big jumbled up pile.

When I do things like that I now write the charge directly on the cartridge with a sharpie. Its frustrating to second guess which row you took a cartridge out of, and I have tipped boxes too. In addition you have a bit of a record of the cases if you want to check them over again for pressure signs later.

I seen you at the range with numbers on each one and started doing the same right after. Very good idea.

I use a felt tipped pen and number the loads, just write the load number on the case wall near the head. Also helps if you go back and look at the cases later on for pressure signs etc.

Let us know what you honestly think of it, after you have used it.
I personally hate them, with a capital H.

This would be my 2nd "mistake,"

I made an assumption on a recipe based on numbers in my head. After finding my file folder of test targets that was missing for about 4ish months....I discovered I loaded these 4gr lighter of powder than needed. I guess only 40 rounds isn't that big of a mistake to fix.

Fml.......off to the garage I go......

Use a block of wood and don't be gentle!.....put in a wad of paper towel to catch the bullet.

I would call that more of Russian Roulette than a mistake. If you can't find your notes, don't assume anything. No offence but guessing a recipe is in itself a recipe for disaster especially if you reload multiple calibers.
