Surplus Garands from South Korea westrifle.com

im going to take a wild guess and say it will be around a year before there on canadian soil, so lots of time to save up!

I want to start with K98. If anyone out there knows where is those stored and where I can buy those in large quantities let me know. There is none that I can buy.
As to m38 it is the same story. Find me a location where I can buy 5000 or less of those at good price and I will buy and bring it to Canadian market.
Now The 1949 SKS. The first batch that I got in were unriferbished 1949 one box and I was selling them for 650 dollars each. then two boxes that were refurbished and I was selling them for 550. So may I ask you where did I "adjusted my price accordingly" To tell you the truth those are consider to be national treasure and should not have been exported the fact that Canada got some in is a pure "luck" Usa sells them for thousands (2000 -12 000) depends on condition. I can not find any more of those and even if I find I will not bring it because of the risk.
We try our best and I even fly there if needed. Guys westrifle will not bring junk or overpay for those, but I might know who will :) SO anyway Canada will see some Garands for sure.

So are you saying there are no more 1949 SKS to come into Canada and the only ones are the ones that are already here?

I think that you will be able to sell each and every functional Garand with a decent bore that you bring in for a minimum of $500 almost regardless of cosmetic condition etc. The only way to go from there is up. Probably all the way to $1800 or more for un-issued, still in the cosmo examples (assuming any of those even exist).

Keep in mind that a $500 Garand will probably set you back $620-ish once you factor in shipping and taxes. Hoping for anything less than that is unlikely and unreasonable to expect IMHO.

So does this mean that you are bringing in good quality guns at a good price?? Or does it mean that if or when we see Garands from another dealer we should be careful what we buy ????

2 questions for you sergei:

When do you expect garands will arrives... ?

Can you name companies ABLE TO bid/buy/bring those garands in Canada pls ?

Thx

Perspective:

The US CMP sells Garands in Service Grade (SERVICE GRADE: (Good to Very Good)
Service Grade Rifles show less wear and better appearance than Field or Rack Grades. Good to very good condition. Rifle wear will be exhibited by worn and mixed colors of the parkerized finish. There may be some minor pitting on receiver and other metal parts. Wood will be either Walnut, Birch, Beech or other variety and will be basically sound but may have minor hairline cracks, dings, scratches and gouges. Wood may not match in color or type of wood. Wood may be of new production on Service Grade Garands. Bores will be generally good with only minor imperfections. The barrel crown may be nicked, but the muzzle will gauge "3 or less" and the throat erosion will gauge less than 5.
) for $625

Special (M1 Garand, Service Grade HRA (Harrington & Richardson) Special.
Allow 60-120 days for delivery.
HRA collector grade metal in excellent almost new condition. Walnut stocks and handguards and associated hardware are new manufacture. NOT original HRA manufacture.
goes for $950

Let's be honest! Obama won't let the garands into the US. It's looking like he is moving towards having them all destroyed. That most likely also means that canada won't let them in as well! Obama is the biggest gun salesman in history, his "anti gun" agenda has forced mass hysteria and buying frenzies! Resulting in sold out gun stores in the US. In the end, all you can really do is buy all you can because guns are only going to get more expensive!

Obama has absolutely no say on these rifles, they are not lend-lease (CMP took those back years ago).

Lever Arms sold them $800 for 4.

You got ripped!

About 18 years ago, Lever had the Danish ones for $150 each, or 4 for $500.
I bought two, sold one to my friend right away.
If I had only known how they jumped in price, I would have bought a dozen!

Actually you got ripped too. Bought 10 from Ruko for $99.00ea. I regret no having bought more. I believe they were leave behinds from Vietnam

Not sure what I would be willing to pay for sight unseen, condition unknown rifles that may or may not have been subject to questionable long term storage conditions in a humid, subtropical environment..

Not trying to be a d*ck but......How many of you would be willing to put a *premium* price on an unseen, uninspected, unverified operational condition of a used car, regardless of make or model?

I'm not willing to commit to any price point until more info is received but that's just me... YMMV.
