Who would win the match??? What would you buy, is the Tavor going to lose its belt!!
These NR we are getting are hands on are amazing keep them coming!!

I have a Tavor
I am buying one of those new NR DMR ACR.

Reason behind this madness you ask? I see them as really two different animals.
One is close quarters, high stress situations requiring single hand shooting in disruptive environments (Tavor) example:I'm wiping my ass on the toilet, some gangster comes into my house, I only have one hand to shoot my rifle while I'm still wiping my ass

The other I want a nice DMR in .223 that I can put some nice groups at 200 yards (ACR) example: I need to hit a goddamn gong at 200 yards without missing half my shots.

We haven't got the NR ACR yet but I prefer the restricted version personally. I would rather have one in the current restricted configuration but with a light 18.5 inch barrel to be non restricted. That's just me though and from the sounds of it many like the PRS stock and the heavier barrel.
Just so people know, that PRS stock can be put on the restricted model we currently have if you want it later when they start bringing in parts and the folding adjustable one we have now can be put on the new one when it comes.

It's hard to say which one will be more popular. If we are only talking about the NR version of the ACR that is coming then it will be even harder to pick, they are both very different and would be total opposites.
The ACR is a long barrel DMR type setup, I'm not sure what quality the barrel will be but from what people are saying about the accuracy of the 16 inch the 18.5 should be good as well. So in the accuracy department the ACR will win, but the Tavor is so compact and easy to carry and is still accurate enough just not as accurate.

I think it's going to come down to personal preference, If you like bullpups and want it for riding around in the truck and carrying it on a sling out in the bush the Tavor is the right choice but if you want a little more accuracy and don't mind giving up a little portability the ACR may be a better choice.

I don't think you can go wrong with either and I'm glad we have the choice to pick whichever one we want.

I think the best choice may actually be to buy both :D

I agree, totally different tools. And since I am fortunate, I'll add the acr to the collection. If I get one. I understand they're preselling like bejebus.

For the price I just picked up my used one for I think it is a better way to go. I have one now instead of waiting till who knows when they actually show up and I can buy a non restricted barrel and still be close to the price of the new one that's coming. Plus I get to pick a quality barrel blank to build the NR barrel from.

Just another angle to look at it from if your tired of waiting.

Well BC wait times for transfers being what they are, then having to get the work done, then waiting for the reclassification to go through, that should bring you about at the same time as these NR versions will come in I believe.

Just boughta n XCR. Did much research on all the NR. I found it very interesting that Magpul and Rem. lost lawsuits to RA, which leads me to believe the big boys had to copy the small shop. I also did a lot of research on Yank forums between the ACR and XcR. Opinions tended to lean towards the XCR, but comments were not that negative for either. Seemed to come down to choice. One of my major factors for choosing the XCR was caliber choices. Neither the Tavor or ACR has that now.

I am guilty, like so many of us, at jumping at each NR we get. Nothing wrong with that. I just preferred what the XCR offered me.

Cool!
Can't imagine countering the gangster while you wiping your axx or the other way around. But I love this example.
I have to agree that Tavor has patrol rifle capability in compact platform which the best advantage of being bullpup layout. It still my "Every time" range gun.
Can't wait the NR ACR in here.

Ah the left handed toilet defense thread. A classic in the making

come on you have to give me chops for the "disruptive environment" plug. You got water, you got electricity, those makeup lights are really bright, really tight corners, propensity for things to get messy, it's a whole new Fallujah.

This is classic. Period!

I'm waiting to see what the accuracy of the NR DMR ACR's is going to be. If their shooters I'll probable pick one up, then again I need another 223 like I need a kick in the nuts, so...

My transfer was done in 48 hours, Total time from when I paid for it till I had it in my hands was about a week and would have been quicker but it just so happened the previous owner was taking a road trip to my city and he just got a STATT to deliver it to me :) Also luckily for me I have all winter to get it re-classified, I do most of my shooting in the winter at the range anyway and I also have my HK that I can take out in the bush if the opportunity arises.

Either way, I have an ACR now and am not hoping they show up at the estimated delivery date which may be later than expected if they are a hot seller in the US.
IRG will probably going to be the first to actually get them into Canada.

I think they are going to be a hot seller so get on a list if you want one.

edit.
I've also got the NR barrel all worked out already and should have it by early next week. I just need to call to find out where to take it to have it verified in Edmonton area now.

Interesting analogy of Tavor use, you could have used an analogy like, While I was making Coffee, taking out the garbage, or dialing 911 on the cellphone, but instead chose to devolve it to toilet level :p
