M&P "10 round mag" a lie, more like 9..

..or so it seems. If I push things really hard, I can squeeze in that 10th round, but how will that affect feeding? I have the philosophy that magazines should be never be loaded past the "wiggle point" ie, if I can't depress/push down the last round very much, I don't trust it.

Thoughts, opinions, suggestions?

Mine were quite stiff but loosened up a bit after time.

Yep, brand new. I loaded them last night and will let them sit for a while, then reload them a few more times and hopefully it will loosen up a little.

An Uplula like the one in the range kit is a godsend loading those things. Mine fit snug on the last round too but its never caused any trouble.

Don't try a Glock mag if you think those are tight.

Shoot gun till empty reload mags and repeat till your bankaccount reads 0 from buying so much ammo.

I have had my M&P 9 for almost a year. I keep the mags loaded always. I use a lula loader
and that tenth round is still a bugger to get in.

There is an easy fix for this and a detailed video on Youtube - it basically involves removing one loop of the mag spring and trimming the rear "teeth" on the follower.
I did this to mine and it makes a huge difference.

My mags are really "tight" as well. I'm a pretty strong guy and I can barely hand load them (need the Uplula)

Yah that lula is a godsend indeed. Still, I wish I was man enough to fully load the mag by hand in case I lose the lula.

I have them in 9,40 &45 and all are very hard to load the 10th more than any other gun I have by far

My M&P 40 mags were very tight as well but have loosened up significantly with use. I keep them fully loaded as well when in storage.
