Mossberg MVP any opinions or experience?

From what i can tell thats how this one is too. Ill be inspecting the bolt regularily then thanx for the heads up!

Did zero one this week at the range for a young man, did shoot only 8 rounds out of it but i liked it, the ladd had the cheap UMC 55gr ammo and i managed to put 3 rounds sub MOA at the end, look like a very good value... and very accurate, i recalled the trigger was very good and light... JP.

Yeah but apparently everything you touch shoots "sub moa". I think I'm just going to call you Midas.

Put 50 rounds thro her last night breaking in the barrell. I had zero issues with feeding or ejecting the rifle and mag worked flawlessly. Being this is my first bolt action rifle i am very impressed! It was too dark to zero my scope so all i was shooting at was milk jugs. Going to the range during the day is my next plan ill get some pics of my groupings

I picked on of these from Nechako sports in PG. Seams like a nice enough rifle, the stock is nice. Barrel is floating. The bolt does wobble when it is fully to the rear. The magazine does wiggle when it is seated. This doesn't seam to affect the gun's operation, at least with dummy rounds. It came with a pinned 10 round magazine. Sorry about grammar I am using my crackberry.

You should have grabbed some 10 round lar mags while you were there they work perfect!

that would be the little spring loaded lip at the bottom of the bolt. makes sense! thats how it grabs the round out of the mag cool! anyways more ####!

That looks great. Did your MVP come with the scope and bipod or without?

put another 60 rounds through her today and Im just loving this rifle. it was damn cold today and I was gloved up. lots of people complain about the mag release but with mechanix gloves with liners I was able to reach in and grab the mag release no problems. Such a fun rifle to shoot with the scope properly zero'd in and 10 round mags its just a joy! I cant wait for next week when I buy a crate of ammo and can go to town on this thing :D

I think im gonna get one off these. they seam like a good rifle for the price.... its this or a R700 sps varmint in 22-250.... I cant decide, I know the 22-250 is a better round, but its more money to shoot and brass is harder to find for reloading... I think ill go with the MVP but still not 100% sure...

Without the scope and bipod you probably saved yourself maybe $100-$120.

What's the effective range? 400 yrds or 600 yrds?

dunno myself Ive only been to 100 yards with it so far. when I asked around CGN with the barrel twist and caliber most said 500 is best it can touch to 1000 some said tho. but really who needs more than 5-600?

that was the biggest consideration for me as well, this thing is cheap to feed.

This thread inspired me to watch every review on you tube and I am getting this gun. What scope are you running? I am picking up the model with the scope and bipod but plan to replace the scope with a quality alternative.

Since it is a bolt action.. can you legally unpin your mags? or does the fact they detatch nip that in the butt?
