IDPA put down on IPSC rant...

I shoot both, and do see a slight difference in the two, but the one thing they both have in common is you can't miss fast enough to win. For me more rounds down range is a good time

I'm actually curious, which ethnicity was he referring to?

I'm not going to say. It was an outlandish comment. I purposely didn't say because I was fishing to see if anyone else had a similar racist perception. I feel that comments like he made aren't made in a vaccum, and maybe him and his IDPA buddies all feel the same way.

lol ! They are both fake ! They are games , that's what makes them fun . When the targets shoot back it gets a little more serious . I shoot IPSC but not IDPA because no one in NS does IDPA .

There's a project for ya. Some one should get a IDPA club up and running in NS it would be nice to do a little road trip for a match. For that matter another club in NL would be fine too.

In the IPSC in my area it is around 70 per cent Caucasian, maybe 15 per cent Chinese, a core of Filipinos and a smattering of other faces.

It gets a bit more interesting when you listen to the languages spoken (aside from "load and make ready" or if you will "road and make leady" :) ). I hear Russian, Tagalog, Mandarin, Cantonese and English of various qualities. All I care about is that everyone has a good time and shares a laugh or two. If it were up to me, I would allow people to squad as they like when shooting but break up the squads while working but not keep squads together the whole day. And I like mixing young people and seniors too. I sure learn a lot from the more experienced.

That's why I was wondering. I think Lower Mainland BC has a higher percentage of Asian shooters, but OP doesn't have a location listed in his profile.

So what i am getting out of this thread is. The op doesn't live anywhere and his friend doesn't like Scottish IPSC shooters and i would guess, Irish IPSC shooters being that they could be perceived to be similar to the Scotts.

My only problem with IPSC is guys wearing spandex who really shouldn't. At least in IDPA, the baggier concealment garments are a bit more flattering on our saggy body parts. It's all about how good you look on GoPro, isn't it?

Well I have run IDPA at my club in the past and now currently run IPSC. What I have learned is the people who shoot both and never bad mouth either SPORT are usually the best shooters and the most pleasant to be around. PERIOD

True True.... this guy is just a dumb ass !! and not worthy of your time. Just hang out with shooters who respect all shooting, and are good natured folks.
ps.. ask this guy to send video of him shooting stages, so we can critique all the mistakes I'm sure he's making.

I've shot few idpa matches, and it's fun as well and will shoot another one day I'm sure....I'm ipsc guy first, and have my opinions, but all is good..even cowboy, skeet, ppc, plinking...whatever... respect all shooters!!!
Tactical, my ass.. though I believe in all techniques are good to learn and know, unless he's a swat guy by his job or some 007 agent or something, it's all just a game. I bet he's also the guy you shouldn't hang out with, as he'll get you into trouble.... now I'm profiling him... I watch too much criminal minds... ahaha..

Loose his contact info.
