Let's say these were the only two shotguns available and you could modify either one how you like. Which one would you choose for 3-gun and why?

Thanks! !

Benelli FTW!

Haven't actually shot a Versamax....but the quality of my last few Remington shotgun purchases sucked!

The guns will have different recoil impulses due to the gas operatation of ther Remmy, as opposed to the recoil operation of the M2...I would suspect the remy "should" shoot a little softer!

I bought the versamax for 3gun and love it. Comes with most mods you would want to do to the M2 including mag extension bolt release and oversized charged handle. It is a very soft shooting shotgun and cycles 2 3/4 inch 7.5 with no trouble.

I was torn just like you between the 2, ended up getting the Versamax Tactical bought it from Shooters Choice. Few things, I haven't gotten to shoot it yet, so I can't really give a review yet. A few points that got me to make my decision was... It was about $400 bucks cheaper then the M2 before taxes. I love the weight and how's it is balanced in my hands, just felt right. The 22" barrel I feel is better for 3 gun and more, rather the short 18" IMO... Came with a few added parts to customize the gun for your needs. I don't think you can wrong with either guns, but so far I am very happy with my buy.

I would modify the versamax to take M2 internals, making it inertia driven, just to mess with everyone's heads.
I would also paint it pink, but add skulls to it.

Winning in shotgun/3 gun is all about mindfuking the competition!!!

Maybe he should modify an M2 to look and have the internals of a VersaMax!

AAAAAaaaarg
Mind....blown....

But seriously, I like the M2 due to the lighter weight and it balances better/swings better for me.
It cycles fast and the mechanism is simple so reliability should be pretty good.

I'd have to spend some time with the SBE2 to see I'd outrun the gun with its longer stroke (yes I'm that fast.......on the internet)

Will you bet him, lets say, a Benelli shotgun?

So that way, he doesn't buy one, but wins the bet, and gets one anyway.
Win win?

Never Shot a Benelli so don't know.
Shot my buddy's Versamax this summer, determined it was awesome.
Bought one for myself and ordered some in for sale. Loving it
