You guys were thinking something else weren't you:)
Ok they are not my wife's they are mine.
I ended up getting both off of here.I was looking for one with a bayo but got the first one without.
I am glad I got the first one though as it's in beautiful condition.
The second one came up and it had a bayo:dancingbanana:I was happy to get one with a bayo.
Got both for a reasonable price.I think they are worth more than I paid and will only go up in price.
They are getting harder to find.
Mine are not for sale.
Anyways here are some pics. Please feel free to post your model Ds.

The gas tube may be different because it maybe a paratrooper model. My understanding is the paratrooper is a restricted version due to barrel length so maybe just mix matched parts from the 90's. There is so many variations of these guns and mine are different to yours. I hae 2 D models but one of mine I think was a military version with an M model trigger group converted maybe in the 70's or 80's. My second one is a D model from the 90's with and M model trigger group. Both mine have no bayonet and are shorter barrels than standard SKS.

I really want one with the AK/D model trigger group and a Bayo!

My sks doesn't have a bayonet, and also has the shorter gas chamber. Does yours say sks-d on the side of the reciever (left side). Also barrel is the same length as normal sks.

I just looked and it says this.I guess it's a model M

once upon a time I have a "D" collection , I had 4 of them but had to sell them and they were easy to sell , there will always be a demand for them bcos they don't make them anymore.

the "D" were my favorite SKS.
