Oil/Grease, semi auto pistol

Using Synth Mobil 1 10w30 on my CZ for 5 years and it works great. This is range/comp gun.
Grease is usually used on carry guns to prevent oil leakage on clothing, especially in high temps like in TX.

I don't run either cz or 1911 platforms but that hasn't stopped several guys I know from running grease on theirs(1911). I lube the lugs on the barrels of my glocks, just whatever is left on my finger from doing the rails and the exterior of the barrel and barrel channel in the slide. Enough to make the surface look wet.

Like I m luger I use oil on my rimfire guns.

aaahhhh TDC.....not running CZ or 1911 platforms........ ...) ..... okkkk

Now I understand why TDC insists on the Fundamentals....., Glocks requires more works from the user to be accurate...., maybe he should try CZ

)

The gun is accurate my friend, it is uneducated operators that blame their gear. Fundamentals carry over to all makes and models. Cz and 1911's simply cover up a lot of bad form, hence their popularity.

agreed with you I am, Fundamentals carry over to all makes and models, accuracy ......well I won't go ther,......CZ and 1911 can fight on this..... about the CZ and 1911 bad form....it 's a debate you won't win and I won't win (personal choice...), blame on gear....well....user issue.......to bad for them.

Accuracy is relevant to the task at hand. Glocks were designed for shooting people not paper, and the 1911 and cz platforms are not designed for ultra precision as its not needed and not possible. I schooled an ipsc guy running an sti grandmaster with my stock 17 with xs big dots. I guess that was all shooter right?

If you have never taken any professional training, its very likely your fundamentals are absent or suck. Every single person I've run into that champions sa guns and trashes on dao/striker fired has no clue what fundamentals are. Coincidence? I think not. Proper grip, trigger control and follow through do wonders.

well said, congrats ! not agree on everything, but we should stop poluting Marty 's thread....

Another lube thread.... Fml :p

I only use fairy oil, its very rare and produce once every 1000yrs. Seriously use mil spec gun oil problem solved. Shot tens of thousands of rounds through my SIG, C7/C8 and never had an issue. No majic frog lube, bacon grease, 10w40 etc.. Problem is guns are like fashon and CLP was like soooooo 1990s

Meh my thread does not need any more replys anyways, i got confirmation that i won't be the only one using grease for lube so at tomorows ipsc practice i will bring the car greased cz.
On the plus side the smell really reminds me of a time i use to do my own mechanic work.

Dsiwy, i am OCD when it comes time to the slightest drop of oil coming out of the gun. Sure any CLP/gun oil would work, just wanted to double check for automotive bearing grease, as i am pretty sure it will be drip free.

If its dripping your putting too much on, one drop per rail and a heavy coat around the outside of the barrel and guide rod.

I had a tendency of applying less and less over time, and lately after a good practice where the gun would heat up good, i ended with dry rails. Can't be good.
Anyways i will see tomorow, maybe this grease thing will all go to hell after tomorow

Ive used Lubriplate white grease on mine, it seems to work well in all temps, and doesn't go hard over time.

I have taken to using Lubriplate 105, which is sold as engine assembly lube. It is an NLGI grade 0 grease, which means it has a softer consistency compared with the common grade 2 greases.
