Yes 2 for 2 shots on flies that made a mistake and landed on the target face. :D Perfect gut pattern around the bullet holes. One was still , the other moving. :) Not as good as the yesterday @ 100 , these were at 25 meters. :)
Rifle was a Walther 22 LR , kkj Sporter , with a fixed 12 power leupold with AO and tgt dot. This rifle scope combo rocks, shot 1/4 to 1/2 inch @ 100 meters average, and at 25 meters it was shoot into the 22 cal holes in the target. :)

Don’t feel bad. I’ve seen the size of some of these flies (all hopped up on dog excrement and looking for a fight), and know how dangerous they can be.

It was either the flies or you... Sob, sniff...You did what you had to do.

I just feel bad that society failed them and forced them to turn bad.:runaway:

I to have a Walther KKJ that was my Dad's it is the rifle I learned to shoot on and it is amazing, I've never shoot another 22lr that is as good. I've made may 100m+ shots on gophers with it with cheap bulk 22 ammo.

Arn't they sometin, I did not know how good till I put the 12x leupold on it. Wow , I wish all my rifles were like that. :D Hold onto that one HD:)

your rifle likes Dynapoint or you picked it just cause is cheap?

Never tried them on flies.

Would buckshot work on flies? or is there a thing called flyshot???:D

Ha, ha...

I had the same thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago. I was shooting my CZ 452 at 50m with open sights. My buddy was spotting me and after a shot he says "lady bug".
This was actually the first living creature I've ever killed with a firearm. :)

Man from the splatter that was a 1/4 pounder. Are you sure you got him, I think you just nicked him.

I am sure there some fly out there flying with 20gr of lead up its ass

This could be the begining of a whole new sport. Fly hunting a la .22

Nice shoot :)

There is something about Walther's and Bug's.In the early seventy's i got a new JJR sniper in .308.I was using168 grains Sierra's and a 24xloupe. I fired a shot into my group and the guy spotting for me says you missed by two inches. Then the missed shot started to walk away. The spotter said as soon as he stops drop him.The Sierra burried him in the backstop. You cant help but like a Walther. The next week i got a Walther UIT Universal.22 to cut the weeds on the backstop.

Hahaha I haven't laughed this much reading a thread in a long time That is awesome... Tapedeck you have to send me the full size pic of that target

An outfitter I hunted with in the 80's had sewn 6 turkey legs on a stuffed beaver, set up two tails as wings, and used to take it down as a "Northern Canadian mosquito" :p display at US hunting shows. He was forever being asked what size shot was necessary to bring them down ( 000 buck). When asked if they attacked humans, his standard reply was "three of them killed my dog"

I always wondered how much business he scared off with this display  - but maybe it wasn't the business he wanted in the first place.
