Hey Guys!

I saw a thread for the JR Carbine and said hey..... there should be a thread for the CX4.

I love these guns. I am not sure why they get overshadowed by others? My guess is that the futuristic styling of it is a bit too much for some people, who would rather the AR style carbine.

Lets see your CX4! Has anyone done any mods?? Share your experiences.

Here is mine. Pretty basic, but i still love it. It fits me beautifully.

I have the jr and the storm and love how light the storm is and how compact it is also I like the narrow forend. There's nothing wrong with the jr but the storm is just a handier firearm.

I agree. I like how the CX4 is so easy to clean and dissemble. The thing breaks in half when you take one pin out. Beautiful.

I will say that the sights do get in the way a bit. The big humps that are used can interfere with scopes. I do envy the flat top of the JR in that respect.

I have a Cx-4, a JR and a Thureon all in 9mm, and the most fun, reliable and well made is definitely the Beretta... In my book that is.... JP.

[/IMG]The Bushnell TR-25 will work good but if you really want to get the most out of holo-red dot sight, invest more money and go with The Leupold Delta point or the Hensdolt RSI, they are just great on it, really add for great precision... JP.

I have be looking at the n.r. . The ? is if you could shave the sites of and install rails and flip up sites?

I have the non restricted, it is awesome. even with the longer barrel, it still feels pretty small.

You could deff shave down the humps. How it will look... i can not say. Use photoshop. Get a picture of the rifle, and cut off the humps and you will see how it looks.

There is already a rail on the top. You might be able to install a new longer one, or two smaller ones to cover up the hump, but you will have to make your own holes.

That would be a very brave move. If you end up doing it, please share with us.

What's a good optic for this one? I'm looking for something inexpensive and that will not be interfered with by those humps!

standard red dots are not a big issue. there are enough of a gap through the humps when you flip the sights down, that you can see through them pretty nicely, and any red dot will be pretty visible. Like Caramels pic.

The more elevated the optic, the better.

Where the problem is, is when you have a optic like it do, that has magnification, and has the need for close eye relief. My optic requires my eye to be like a inch and a bit away from the lens. The issue being that damn hump. I have to move my face closer to that hump, than back further at the cheek rest. But i could solve that problem by elevating it over top of the hump.

For some reason I forgot all about these!
Are they available with the NR barrels already installed? or do the barrels have to be bought separately?

I have one, I have a NR version. Bought from Wanstalls the same time Caramel did.

I put on the Bushnell TRS 1x25 red dot on mine, it co-witnesses the peep sights, but I have them folded down out of the way. I also added the sierrapapa steel guide rod and brass bushing and recoil pad. I also added the sierra papa hammer / trigger kit to change the trigger and polymer hammer. I still need to try it out at the range with live ammo, but Im happy so far. Trigger feels better for sure. That was the one thing I didnt care for at first was the trigger feel.

Real easy. Hack saw blade, sand paper, JB weld and a few hours of time. I cut out a chunk in the middle and kept cutting off more until it was ready to be filled with jb weld. stock end was solid plastic. The pistol grip area was hollow. don't notice a difference in shooting it and feels just as solid in hand. No regrets

500 rounds tru mine in the weekend, perfect operation an i love having this half a dozen Beretta 40S&W 96 mags i bought, capacity of my rifle stand at 14 rounds... JP.

Well hats off to you for doing a brave cut like that. It looks great.

It may just be the lighting of the pic, but did you paint the gun a greenish tint? What did you use for that?? Looks good.
