Guess?
My plan is to ultimately invest in a synthetic stock or chassis for the 10TR, so is it worth buying a $150 Dark Eagle 10RD mag from Northern Republic? If I went with a Synthetic stock (assuming availability) like a Bell & Carlson, Choate, or McMillan, will the DE 10RD mag still fit the stock? If I went with a chassis, be it an XLR, MDT etc, will it work in those and other popular chassis mentioned?

I am just thinking long term, because if my only options are AI/AICS mags, I will continue with the 4RD DBM for now.

The chassis such as the XLR and MDT are only compatible with the AICS magazines. They will not accept your factory bottom metal and therefore are incapable of accepting the factory or Dark Eagle magazine. If you go with a more conventional stock as you've mentioned, you can run the factory magazine with most of those, or an AICS compatible bottom metal - the choice is yours.

Thx! Would you happen to know if bottom metals for the Savage bottom bolt release are available?

FWIW - Dark Eagle's Dan says that he's tried to manufacture his mags so that there's as little slop and rattle between the mag and mag well as possible. That's not always the case with other mags and stock combos.

Don't get me wrong, I really like DE mags, if only there were decent synthetic stocks that accommodated the bottom bolt release currently.

When I bought my rifle I made sure I got one with the bolt release on the action up top just so I could have more options when choosing a stock/magazine system. I'm not sure what's available for the rifle with the bottom bolt release.

I just ordered the XLR Evolution. They accommodate the bottom bolt release.
