H&K G36 Civilian announced HK243 S SAR and TAR

H&K

Because you suck!.....

And....

Awww scrue it we will sell you the dam gun !

...but don't think we like you!

just posting because I see the people asking for RN to do something smart with HK products. hahahahaha, oh that is rich. When agencies can't even get decent service out of them, how the hell do you expect the civy side to?

I know... Kinda leery on this too.

Might be time to start looking at 3rd party import/export dealings, see if a guy like IRunGuns can get a batch exported. IIRC over 5000 euro's you need a EU arms export license, but it's not that bad to get especially if it's an approved for civilian sale gun (just like the SL8)

I prefer the old-style rail with the optic.

From what people have said. The Hensoldt Dual Optic sight simply sucked
The 3X power has a really short eye relief, The Red dot gets washed out under daylight.

The German KSK move away from the integrated optic for that reason.

I don't think they're even in production. One would hope the Bundeswehr surplus those optic out as they move onto G36A2, or newer version (G36A2 has the Hensoldt 3X with pictinny rail)

Yeah, sucked is a big time understatement :p

The 3x optic sucked, and the red-dot was almost completely useless (as well as using an almost impossible to find battery). Not to mention price tag was 700+/- :x

A 1-4 optic on the low rail would be FAR superior.

The old 3x dual optical is already 25+ years old design. You can't expect it to match today's optical performance.

This is the updated 4x / 1x dual sight system from hensoldt

The vertical offset is getting ridiculous even for using it with CBRN clear. They should make a low rail attached to the rear anchor and forget about have the rail bridging over the ambi charging handle.

Some of the European ergonomic Is just plain weird. Beretta does the same thing with ARX160 as well, so does the cz 805. Too much focus on making the rifle to shoot with folded stock and with iron sight. Not enough thinking as to the ergonomic of the rifle with optic and when the rifle is deployed with stock unfolded.

Yeah, definitely! Knights Armament and HERA both have a super low design that you can use iron sights with, and are a MUCH superior design to the bridge over style, AND you get easier access to the charging handle with heavy gloves.

just run a quality 1-8 or something, what is with this oddball setup a magnified optic at 1x is the same thing as a red dot.

then buy a G36, the hk243/293 are not a G36 just like the SL8 is not a G36

An HK243 is a G36 with a different bolt carrier and receiver that prevents the insertion of the FA bolt carrier, otherwise they are identical to the latest G36 with SF trigger group.

Also I doubt the original G36 rifles in Canada will ever command the same type of prices as they did in the past.
