I'm looking for a 22 mag. Just wondering what are my options are. Im looking for something with a wooden stock and iron sights. I handled a marlin xt and a savage. Just wondering about the other guys, zastava, cz, henry? I have a 93r17 savage with camo brush and scope and Im looking to sell it. Any ideas would be great..thanks.

Another CZ vote but mine is for a bolt. I have an American which doesnt have irons but look into the LuX for those.

Great, proven rifles.

I was looking at the lux but I dont know about the shape of the stock. And theres no dealers around here to look at one. Id kinda like to shoulder one before I go order one. I like the 512 looks like a nice rifle. Thanks for all the info guys!

The Lux has the European stock shape.. quite droopy for me.. cheek weld is a real problem for me. I have the 452 Lux in .22 & I'm not quite liking it. Get to handle one before buying unless you're familiar with the European stock style. Some vendors have a great return policy if the gun is unfired though..

I have a t-bolt target varmint but it has no open sights and I have a Henry as well which does have the sights but I can't see those friggin brass beads lol.

Cz 452 lux.

Haha! Yes...for the same price as 5 or more new CZs! But as the owner of a mint example, the Model 61 gets my vote as well on the used rack.

New rifles...the CZ 455 is hard to beat and possibly has the best sights of all.

The 452 has a better sight then the 455. That is why the 2014 cz's now come with tangent sights.

I have a CZ 455 HB with the thumbhole laminated wood stock....just love it!!

Very accurate, not too ammo fussy, and really feels good in the hands.

No irons on it though, so you may not like that. Me, I'm a scope lover, period.

Regards, Dave.

I'll call my local gun shop on monday and see what they have in stock. Our gun shops can get most all brands but usually dont carry alot of stock. One of the down falls for living here I guess. Thanks for all the info. Also I was on the EE looking at some winchester 9422 wmr's. Were they always that expensive? I have a soft spot for winchesters. The model 61 looks nice but want something a little more modern. I was looking on prophet river and they have the best price on the cz 512 so far. So it all depends now if I can do some sweet talking to convince my wife that our 2 month old son will enjoy shooting it when hes older..haha. Thanks again

Henry Frontier if you want a lever action or CZ 452 Lux if you want a bolt... I am sure you will like the "hogs back" stock, particularly with irons... I love the feel of the hogs back with either irons or a low mounted scope.
