AR-15 Mag Well Lock - Now Available Keyed Alike!

I found these at Shot Show and have been awaiting their arrival. Designed in Canada and made in Germany these are a high security lock that fits neatly in the mag well and completely disables the firearm by locking the upper and lower receiver together, locking the bolt back, blocking the chamber and the mag well making it impossible to load a round or cycle the action.

These are not for those of you who just want to meet the minimum requirement by law, these well exceed the minimum requirement. The key is a security and key and can not be picked or easily drilled out.

Here is a short video demo.

These are in stock and ready to ship.

Make one with a combination lock and it would be better

This is a common comment but this was designed as a high security lock and a combination defeats that. I myself prefer combo's for my trigger locks so my solution was to keep the key attached via a dog clip in a separate compartment of the same case I use to transport my AR's. Yes this lowers the security but is still legal and ensures that I never get to the range without the key.

I'm not a fan of leaving springs under tension.

Would this cause the springs to weaken due to being compressed for extended periods of time?

Its been proven that springs do not wear in either the compressed or released state, they wear during transition between states.

For my AR's the lock is only fitted for transport, I keep them in a safe so no trigger locks required.

Same for me, I got rid of all my keyed locks for combination locks. I don't mind if it's a little less secure as long as it is still secure!
I don't always use the same gun case, or range bag, so it happened once or twice that I forgot my lock key, and the range is about 45 min from my home, so I don't want any lock without a combination anymore.

Just picked mine up from the post office this am. I'm impressed, it's well built and simple to use. I have gone to combination locks for all my stuff, but trigger locks or cables on an AR don't work that well. Its a great way to keep legal for transport.I'm just going to clip the key on my truck key so if I can drive to the range I can unlock my gun :p.
And as always Dean is a great guy to deal with, super fast shipping !!!!

as long as the spring is not at 100% comprestion, it makes no difference, could be left like that for 100yrs would still be fine
