Is it just me or is .22LR hard to find?

Seems to be alot of cci stingers available. Are these any good or is there a reason why there's tons around?

There does not appear to be any current shortage , I was in Canadian Tire and Walmart this afternoon . Both stores had quite abit of ammo in all cals. ; I cleaned out Walmarts bulk selection when I bought nine boxes of their Win. 333 bulk packs , but they said they had more coming next week . Canadian Tire had lots of everything.......but their prices are always higher than Walmart......

I was in sail in the train yards in Ottawa today and they had lots of Remington goldenbullet 525 round bulk packs for 22.50, but people were buying them up fast and the guy said to get them while you can cause he wasn't sure when the next shipment would come

I just saw a pile of the remington buckets at a LGS. They don't have a ton there but they CCI's thurderturds and a nice selection of subsonic ammo as well. I've never used the buckets before, but if they are like the goldens they should be just fine for bulk.

Canadian Tire in Greenwood , NS has the buckets of "new and improved" Remington Goldens. I blew through about a 1000 this past weekend using three different rifles with no abnormal issues . Some people hate them I know , but hey, that makes more for me . They seemed to shoot a lot cleaner than they used to .

I was at Cabela's this afternoon. The shelves are basically empty of .22 ammo except for the Remington Bucket "O" Bullets which nobody wants. By the way, it's in their flyer for this weekend for $79.99 which is $5.00 more than what's listed on their website. Go figure.

It seems the gun stores have whatever you want (International did at least) but not the big box stores. Walmart and Canadian tire have the odd box of Winchester wildcat and 333, but thats practically it.

Made the mistake of buying the last two boxes of wildcat and a box of 333. My gun doesn't like either of these ammos, while everything else I've used was fine(Federal, American Eagle, Remington, CCI Stingers) Both had big problems with FTE - every 6-8 rounds or so. I couldn't get through a 10-shot clip on my Mark II without one getting stuck.

So whats the general method of removing a stuck casing? screwdriver from the side/back or cleaning rod down the bore?

I have always heard the Remington stuff was bad, but just tried some Golden Bullets recently and they are much better than my regular Winchester 525/555 . The Golden Bullets have a more rounded nose and feed in my CZ452 much better than the more squared off nose of the Win 525. I also used the Goldens in my new S&W M&P-22 and not one failure of any kind. Stocked up from Sail $22.99 for 525 brick .

Wal-mart in Medicine Hat has some Winchester 555 packs at 23$ they just got in today, I don't think it will last long, I bought 5 bricks and I don't even like Winchester ammo but it should be fine in the bolt guns.
