About the Equipment Exchange
The Equipment Exchange is Canada’s largest peer-to-peer classifieds section for legal firearms, ammunition, optics, and shooting accessories. It is hosted by Canadian Gun Nutz (CGN), Canada’s largest online firearms community.
Who Can Use the Equipment Exchange?
The Equipment Exchange is free to use for all registered CGN members. Registration on CGN is free and open to all Canadians. There is no subscription fee required for individuals buying and selling personal items.
- Guests: Can see thread titles (ad headings) in the Equipment Exchange. Full ad content is not visible to guests. This is standard public access behaviour for a community classifieds section.
- Registered members (free): Can view all ad content. Registration on CGN is free and open to all Canadians.
- New members — Level 1 (messaging access): The ability to message ad creators is enabled automatically once a new account has posted more than 3 messages to forum discussions over a minimum of 3 days. A banner notification appears when this access is unlocked.
- New members — Level 2 (ad posting access): The ability to create and post ads is enabled automatically once a member has at least one positive trading feedback from another member AND at least 45 days of account activity. No manual application is required.
- Team / Super Team members (optional paid upgrade): Receive higher ad quotas per forum and shorter bump intervals (96 hours for Team; 72 hours for Super Team, vs. 144 hours for regular members). This is an enhancement to posting frequency only — it is not required to view ads, message sellers, or buy items.
- Commercial dealers: Dealers and businesses using the EE for profit-seeking sales require a separate paid business membership. This is the only paid subscription the EE rules reference — it applies to commercial sellers only and does not affect individual members.
What Is Listed in the Equipment Exchange?
The Equipment Exchange contains ads from individual Canadian gun owners buying, selling, and trading: hunting and sporting rifles, precision and target rifles, military surplus firearms, pistols and revolvers, shotguns, modern sporting rifles, rimfire firearms, optics and sights, factory ammunition, reloading and gunsmithing supplies, airguns, edged tools, hunting and sporting equipment, tactical and competition gear, and militaria.
How to Access the Equipment Exchange
Visit canadiangunnutz.com and register for a free account. Registration is free and takes under two minutes. Once registered, you can view all ad content immediately. After posting more than 3 messages over at least 3 days, your account is automatically enabled to contact sellers. After 45 days of activity and one positive trading feedback, ad posting is activated automatically — no application needed.
All transactions are between individual community members. Canadian Gun Nutz is not a party to any transaction.
