Can anyone tell me what is the benefit of this finish compare to the cold hammer forged barrel or chrome line barrel?
Melonite is just the coating. It is the same #### that Glock uses to treat their slides if I recall correctly.
Also, cold hammer forging is a construction process and has no bearing on the material or the barrel being chrome lined.

More interested in just the barrel. Will they offer it seperate as the ACR has a quick change barrel system?
Could see that being a popular option to non restrict current ACR rifles.
