belt's are not considered magazines in Canada the only one's that are registered are box and tube magazines so you can have 50- or unlimited belt length. if it's got a barrel length of 18.5 or longer it should be non- restricted but it all comes down to what the RCMP say.
Magazines are either prohibited or unregulated. The terms restricted or non-restricted are not used when determining magazine legality. As for belts, yes, they are indeed regulated. Belts of a design made prior to 1946 are unlimited capacity. Belts of a design made 1946 and later are limited to 5 round capacity.
