    2014 SHOT SHOW: Air guns

For fans of airguns, there were a few new items as well.

Crosman has a new line of gas pistons called the Nitro Piston 2
This follows the original Nitro Piston released in 2009.
(More generic info on gas pistons here.
    http://www.airgunsofarizona.com/blog...ro-piston.html )

I had a chance to fire the new system at Media Day. Compared to a steel spring gun, the new system cocks very easily and does not give the characteristic PWANG! In fact, it felt as though it got progressively easier to cock as I swung thru the stroke, rather than getting heavier.
The one in the photo has a suppressor built into the barrel shroud but they will make a Canada legal non-suppressed version.

    More info here. www.crosman.com/croswords/?p=3885

Remington is back in the air rifle again. After being away from airguns for 85 years, they have a new line of gas pistons.

Of course, you will need to feed your new air gun. That means pellets.
H&N of Germany has a new budget line called Excite. They are not match grade like the H&N brand, but more of a general hobby pellet.

A new line of pellets is now being imported into the USA from Slovenia (former Yugoslavia).
Coal brand pellets ( www.coal.si ) are available in .177 and .22 ccalibre, and several versions are also made in .25 cal.
They do not yet have a Canadian importer, but they are aware of Canada.

Also at the same booth as the above mentioned Coal pellets were several varieties of Skenco lead-free pellets from Hungary.
Most of the Skenco line are rather light weight (~6 gr) compared to similar lead pellets. This makes them faster in low powered guns like CO2 pistols, but unsuited for powerful springer guns. (Without some resistance, the piston slams into the front of the piston chamber)
However, Skenco now has an 8.5 gr Golden Rod Long Range pellet.
