    M14E2 butt plate

Hello, have you guys ever thought about making some sort of aluminum butt plate for the E2 stock? or maybe a aluminum/rubber combo?
Seems like theirs a lot of stocks out there that could use one...

Thank-you for this suggestion. The RBS (formerly known as the RBA as shown here) could be adopted for use on the M14E2. The concern here would be in the knowledge that the M14E2 is fairly rare in Canada and as far as I know, the rest are in collector's hands in the US. Collectors are very unlikely to adopt a modern rear butt plate, preferring the original. We would probably need to see a fair bit of interest here in order allocate already thin resources but personally, I like the idea because the M14E2 is seeing renewed interest in Canada. It would not take very much to modify our existing design. It is also likely that when the T97NSR butt plates are produced, we could produce a small run of these parts on a pre-paid, pre-order basis. Could you forward a precise sketch of the M14E2 rear butt plate or post a link? We do not have this stock in inventory although we would be willing to acquire one.

Something similar to that picture would be perfect! Ya I guess it is hard to say how much demand there is. There are a lot of new un-issued stocks being sold in the US without butt plates like the one in the link, and the USGI butt-plates are unobtanium on their own. Treeline will ship to Canada if you are interested in getting one as a tester. I'll see if I can locate a diagram with dimensions for the butt-plate area.

As an aside, E2 parts are available. The M14 forum link here may provide some useful information.

The butt plate assemblies are definitely not available on their own... The front grip can be ignored. The only parts that are readily available is some of the mounting hardware for the front grip. Screws can be improvised.
