IE, absolutely legal in Canada to store a restricted pistol inside without a trigger lock?
It is a safe (locking metal box) that is specifically designed for firearms or other valuables. Might want to put a trigger lock on it as well to cover your butt, but should be legal without.

If I need a trigger lock, it defeats the purpose.

Still has a 'hidden' element. Combo trigger lock one number off inside, and a mag or two.
you forget....I am not locked in here with you, you are locked in here with me!

It does not qualify as a safe if it is not secured in a way that a thief cannot just walk in grab it and walk away. Good luck if u r found storing a firearm like this. You may as we'll just leave it in a drawer

It's too early in the morning, but there's probably dozens of similar handgun 'safes' that are the same size and qualify. Heck an actual small safe like the first alert ones at costco, they only weigh 80 lbs, pretty easy to just pick up and carry off. Still a safe.

Can you please cite evidence of your statment.

I agree, we should be able to legally leave it in a drawer, unlocked/ loaded.

Okay, then how about printing out a new dust cover so it looks like the biography of Pierre Elliot Trudeau? It wouldn't look out of place on a nightstand and NOBODY is going to touch that.
